I woke up this morning at around 12pm which was unusually late even for me. I sat up in bed and looked over to the empty space beside me and saw a note written in Demetrius's handwriting:

After reading the letter I smiled and placed it in the nightstand drawer where I kept all of Demetrius's letters. I closed the drawer and felt the babies kicking inside of me. I let out a sigh and place both hands on my belly and rubbed them across the area of my baby bump where they were moving around. "Settle down, my darlings. Your momma's going to eat breakfast in just a little bit."

After a couple of minutes of rubbing my belly and singing to them, they finally settled down so, I got up and got dressed in my maternity business clothes, grabbed my phone, purse, and keys and headed downstairs to grab some breakfast. When I got down to the first floor, I noticed that it was completely empty with the exception of Gracie and Dr. Frankenstein. Dr. Frankenstein had just finished cooking a Filipino style breakfast and my eyes lit up with joy. After turning off the stove and moving some dishes of food to the kitchen counter, she made a gesture with her hand, " 'Oy! Jess!

Sit down and eat some of this breakfast! Those little monsters aren't going to stay still for too much longer before they're moving around and causing havoc again!" I walk up to her and give her a hug and kiss her on the back of her hand before placing it up against my forehead as a sign of respect. "Thank you, Tita Julia. It reminds me of when I was alive."

Gracie gives her wife a tight squeeze on her hand and they walk over to the dining table. I follow quietly behind them. "Tita? How do you know I'm having more than one baby?" "Ay Diyos ko, just because I'm a lesbian that doesn't mean I don't know a thing or two about pregnancy.

Remember, I was alive before the Pride movement and living in a third world country and barely being able to survive meant that many families had to marry off their children to richer men, often ones that were from a different country. My eyes widen with shock as I take a bite out of my longonisa.(Filipino sausage). "Oh shit, you were married to a man before, Tita?" She nods her head, "Oo, and that was the first and the last time I ever dated a man." I laughed at her sassy response, "so did you have children too."

She nods and takes a bite out of her fried egg, "three boys to be exact. Diyos ko, they drove me loco! The first two were twins." I nod my head understanding what she was getting at. "Ah, so that's why you know that I'm having twins."

She nods her head and eats some Filipino fried rice with one of her hands. It's a typical way that Filipino's eat food since the practice is cultural. However, Tita and I often didn't eat with our hands when the other residents were around. It's kind of one those things we share exclusively with one another and to be honest, it was really nice to have another Filipina resident residing at the hotel. She smiles after swallowing her food, "bunso, normal pregnant bellies don't get as big as yours is.
