This story takes place at the same time as my book, "Forever and For Always". The difference is that this story is being told from the perspectives of my own original characters, Demetrius and Jessie Hart. It digs deeper into their relationship as w...

I watched over the love of my life as she lay there fast asleep. I was tickled that the sound of my voice and purring seemed to comfort my unborn daughters enough for them to allow their mother to sleep for a change. If they were giving her this much trouble now, I can only imagine the mayhem they have in store for us when they're born. I'm prepared for a difficult road ahead yet, at the same time, I don't mind because I've dealt with much harder things in life. At least this time around I can actually afford to feed and clothe the loved ones under my care.
My sister, Abigail wasn't so lucky but how could she have been? I mean, I wasn't that much older than her so I was just a kid myself when I had to take care of her. This time I'm much older and most importantly.... I'm not alone. I'm pretty excited and eager to meet my daughters for the first time. I'm very curious about what they will look like.
Will they favor me most or their mother? It'll be interesting to see nonetheless because of the fact that they are mixed with two entirely different species. Regardless, I know that one of them will inherit the musical talent within our family while the other will be more interested in mechanics and racing sports. There were a lot of things that were still largely unknown but one thing I am completely certain about is the fact that I'm going to ask Jessie to marry me. I mean, why not?
She's already a huge part of my family, she's already carrying my children, and I already love her, cherish her, and am willing to stand by her side to support, protect, and care for her for the remainder of our afterlives. However, considering that she owns the best jewelry shop in the Pride ring, I had to be extra careful to not draw attention to myself. I opened up my phone and sent a message to Vaggie.
Demetrius: 'Hey Vaggie! How's it going?' Vaggie: 'Hey Demetrius! I'm doing alright. How about you?'
Demetrius look: 'I'm doing okay I guess. Hey, I have a huge favor to ask of you but you can't tell anyone else about it.'Vaggie: 'uh.... Alright, sure. What's up?'Demetrius: I have plans to ask Jessie to marry me however, she's the owner of the best jewelry shop in the Pride ring.
So I was wondering if you could go in and pretend that you're going purchase an engagement ring for Charlie? There's one particular ring that Jessie pointed out in her catalogue that she really wanted. I 'll send you a picture of it and meet you downstairs at the bar with the money Dad lended me to buy the ring.' Vaggie takes a few minutes before eventually deciding to reply back to me.
Vaggie: 'oh wow! That's exciting news! What time did you want to meet up?' Demetrius: 'I was thinking that we could meet up tomorrow at around 11am?' Vaggie: 'okay sounds good I'll wait to receive your text.'
Demetrius: 'okay, see ya later.' I smile down at my phone before putting it away.

The next morning, I wake up next to Jessie who is lying on her side still fast asleep. I yawn and stretch my arms out and above my head. I was awaken by the girls kicking my back from inside of Jessie's belly. I was feeling pretty cranky as a result though at the same time, I got over it pretty quickly because I understood that the babies didn't have a lot of room to stretch out and move. I leaned over and kissed Jessie on the head before climbing out of bed and getting ready to meet up with Vaggie.
I get downstairs and meet Vaggie at the bar. I hand her a white envelope filled with the money that my Dad had lent me and reached over the bar and pulled out a catalogue from behind the register. I laid it down on the counter top and flipped a few pages until I stopped on the page I had folded over. I unfolded it and grabbed a pen and circled one of the pictures, "this is the one that Jessie wanted." Her eyes widened, "wow... that ring is gorgeous!
And... expensive..." I laugh in response to her last remark, "yeah, you're telling me. It's gonna take forever for me to pay my Dad back for this ring but... I want to make her happy so, I guess it's worth it in the end." She looks at me with concern, "but aren't you guys expecting a baby?" I let out a sigh but lean in close to her. Besides, Vaggie's pretty smart, it'll only be a matter of time before she figures it out herself anyways.
"Okay, I'm going to let you in on a little secret but you can't tell anyone, especially, Charlie. It's supposed to be a surprise at the baby shower." She raises an eyebrow curiously, "alright, I'm listening." "Well, we found out from the doctor that we are actually having identical twins.
Two girls to be exact." She smiles and her eyes light up in an anime fashion before she leans over and gives me a hug, "Oh, Demetrius! Congratulations!! I'm so excited for you. Tell me, how do you feel about having a house full of girls?"
I shrug my shoulders, "honestly, I would love them no matter what gender they were although personally, I'm sort of excited that I'm getting two daughters. I mean, I practically raised my sister so, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to me I guess if I think about it from that perspective." She takes the envelope of cash and stores it away safely in her miniature backpack purse. "I'll get the rings and bring them back here later in the evening before Jessie gets off of work." I smile and look over to the main entrance to the hotel and notice Carlton, Alastor, Charlie, and Nifty waiting for me.
I had already told everyone my plan to propose to Jessie tonight and they wanted to help me decorate the upstairs balcony space in case Jessie says yes. I told them that it would be a waste of money if she said no but they all rolled their eyes at me in annoyance and Charlie reassured me that she didn't anticipate Jessie saying no considering that we were sharing a room together and had a baby on the way. I turn my head back to Vaggie, "okay, I'm going to head off with these guys. I'll meet you here later." She smiles and waves as I walk away with the rest of the group.
