Final BattleUsually, art tends to mark space. Sculptures need a place to be placed, paintings need space to hang, theater needs a stage to perform, and movies need an environment to be viewed. However, music, among all forms of art, focused more on time than space. It was an art that began the moment it started and gradually disappeared. Flowing sound couldn't be marked by space or time.
Sang-hyun found those moments too precious. But even though flowing sound couldn't be marked by space and time, memories could be.
That was the first performance song for today, Daydream.
We Eight that Eight that Eight that Crew!
As the signature sound representing the 888 Crew resonated and spread, the audience erupted into loud cheers. Sang-hyun and Ha-yeon, who were in charge of the first song, stood motionless until the cheers subsided. But no matter how long the cheers lasted, they didn't seem to subside.
Eventually, Sang-hyun raised his index finger to his lips.
Only then did the audience's response fade away, and silence fell.
Sang-hyun took the mic and opened his mouth.
"When you're on stage, you can see the audience much better than you think. Their smiling faces, eyes focused on the stage, and smiles on their lips."
As Sang-hyun started speaking, the two cameras facing the audience spun around and faced the stage.
"The movement of those cameras is also visible. The cameras seem quite mischievous today."
A small laugh escaped.
"After the performance, when I lie down to sleep, there are scenes that strangely keep coming to mind. Scenes like an unknown audience member laughing heartily, whose name and age I don't even know. That laughter repeats endlessly in my mind, and by the time I finally fall asleep, I start thinking like this."
Sang-hyun looked around the audience slowly and spoke softly.
"Could this possibly not be a dream?"
The audience began to be drawn into Sang-hyun's voice. Before they knew it, the venue became so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
World-renowned CEOs like Jack Welch used to say that when they talked about the company's vision, the audience felt it coming into them with their whole body.
The feeling the audience was experiencing now was similar. Sang-hyun's 'special voice,' as Professor Kim Woon-chul had said, began to firmly grip the audience's minds.
After the third round, some actors who had come to the fourth round venue were also surprised to hear Sang-hyun's voice.
"So sometimes when I go up on stage, I feel like I'm walking into a dream. So, I can go into my dreams whenever I want. Cool, right?"
Sang-hyun smiled.
At that moment, amid the audience's concentration as if they were possessed, a calm yet clear voice began to be heard.
It was Ha-yeon's song that broke the silent stillness.
I'm Daydreamer......
When I take a short trip, to the my daydream
I'm Daydreamer......
When I take a long time to get there, on daydreamAlthough Ha-yeon was the best singer in the 888 Crew, there was a hint of simplicity in her voice now. She simply threw the story of traveling through Daydream with a slow but deep melody.
Ha-yeon's voice spread through the audience like ripples on calm waters. Those who had been captivated by Sang-hyun's voice began to wake up one by one.
