Rhaenyra flew around the castle, swooping down on her dragon Syrax and landing at the dragon pit. Much to everyone's relief knowing that the princess was as wild as the beast of a dragon.

"Welcome back, princess. I trust that your ride was pleasant," Ser Westerling said as Rhaenyra walked away from Syrax, pulling off her riding gloves.

"Try not to look too relieved, Ser," she replied with a smirk as she walked past him as the dragon keepers tried to bring her dragon into the cave.

"I am relieved. Every time that golden beast brings you back unspoiled, it saves my head from a spike," Ser Westerling remarked, but then she ignored him as she always did to anyone who spoke of their concern for her and her dragon. She was a dragon; she was not meant to be tamed.

"Syrax is growing quickly; she will soon be as large as Caraexes." Alicent spoke to Rhaenyra from her place on the carriage steps as Rhaenyra approached her at the carriage.

"That's almost large enough to saddle two," Rhaenyra told her closest friend with a smile as she raised a brow.

"I believe I am quite content as a spectator, thank you." Alicent assured her friend, "Thank you, though."

"Well, whenever you change your mind, Syrax and I will be ready," Rhaenyra said, making them both laugh.

Syrax gave a little roar, wanting to be in the sky with her rider, not in a cave with chains, as the Dragon Keepers continued to command the dragon in High Valyrian, which took both girls attention as they watched the dragon keepers take Syrax into the caves.

"Rhaenyra, my dear, I told you that you could not ride that gorgeous beast for so long. If you are going to see your mother before the council meeting, come on, we must make haste." Anna spoke kindly as she walked towards the carriage.

"I am sorry, Anna. I got lost in the clouds," Rhaenyra said, looking down and biting her lip, making Anna smile and cup her cheek.

"All is fine, my dear, but we must leave if you wish to meet with your mother, and you need to get dressed before you do, as you don't have time for a bath."

"Very well," Rhaenyra said, following Alicent into the carriage. Anna followed the two, shutting the door.

"Rhaenyra, you are the king's cupbearer. You cannot be late to the council meeting; it's your job, and the king and the lord's cups cannot be left empty." Anna scolded the Targaryen as they walked in the halls, making Alicent giggle, and Rhaenyra rolled her eyes, grumbled under her breath, and elbowed the young brunette.

The three girls entered the queen's chambers after getting permission. "Rhaenyra, you know I don't like you to go flying while I am in this condition." The Queen, Aemma, told her

"You don't like me to go flying while you are in any condition." Rhaenyra countered as she walked up to her mother.

"Did you sleep?" She asked, sitting down on a chair near the queen bed. She sat in. "I slept," the queen replied.

"How long?" she asked again.

"I don't need mothering, Rhaenyra." Aemma replied as she fanned herself, "You are surrounded by people who are only focused on the babe; someone must attend to you." Rhaenyra replied

"You will lie in this bed soon enough, Rhaenyra." Aemma said, nudging her daughter with her foot. "This discomfort is how we serve the realm," she continued.

"I'd rather serve as a knight and ride to battle and glory, Rhaenyra," she said, smiling at the thought, making her mother and two close friends laugh.

"We have royal wombs; you and I, the child bed, are our battlefield. We must learn to face it with a stiff lip," Aemma replied, smiling softly at her daughter. "Now take a bath; you stink of dragon," she continued.

"I'm sure she would love my queen, but someone did not manage their time right, and now that she is late to the meeting, the king will be upset as his cupbearer, the princess, is not filling his and the lord's cups," Anna said, giving a reprimanding look to Rhaenyra.

"Yes, yes, I am going," Rhaenyra said, kissing her mother's cheek and leaving the room with the two Hightower sisters following after her as the queen laughed happy her little girl has Anna.

"Now you must get to the meeting, and Alicent, you and I have to go to the library for lessons," before pushing Rhaenyra in one direction, grabbing her sister's hand, and pulling her towards the library where the septa holds their lessons.

"Might I say that you look gorgeous today, my sweet sister?" Anna told Alicent as they both left for the library.

"Oh, thank you, sister," Alicent replied, looking down, blushing, and feeling more confident than she was before, something her sister made her feel often.

"Of course now, would you like to learn more about history, or should we just read whatever books we wish to?" Anna asked, making Alicent shake her head.

"You are supposed to be teaching us, Anna, not giving me an out."

"The septa won't know you and Rhaenyra are ahead in your studies. I made sure of that. What you know would have taken the septa three moons to get to, and you have been working very hard. I am sure you can take a day off to enjoy it. We can get some cookies and tea while we read out in the gardens like you love to."

"That sounds wonderful, sister, but won't my father be upset if he finds out I don't wish to be yelled at?" Alicent asked. She hated being on the receiving end of her father's wrath.

"Leave our father to me, and if he asks you what you learned, just tell him something you have learned. He may be the king's hand, but he is quite stupid and doesn't know half of the things we ladies learn, so it is easy to convince him," Anna said, waving her hand, not concerned with their father.
