"what was it like flying the black dread? You were Balerion's last rider" Lady Laena a girl of only ten and two asked Viserys as they walked tensely in the gardens

"only for a short time before he died when Balerion died the last memory of old Valyria died but vhagar sill lives somewhere" Viserys replied to her stiffly

"bit too large for the dragon pit right some would say too large for our world do you know where she nests?" Laena questioned again

"what" Viserys asked realizing her didn't listen to the girls words wishing to be near a certain girl not a child

"do you know where Vhagar is now" Laena questioned him again

"um the dragon keepers believe she made home somewhere on the coast of the Narrow Sea the worker at spice town report hearing her song times they say it is a sad song" Viserys told her smiling at her he could tell the young Velaryon was fascinated with dragons

"I imagine even dragons get lonely, Your Grace it would be a great honor to join our houses as they were in Old Valyria. I would give you many children of pure Valyrian blood so that we might strengthen the royal line and strengthen the realm" Laena told his as if it was rehearsed which it was her words made him stop walking and look at her

"is that what your father told you to say?" he asked looking at her knowingly making her nod and he sigh disgusted that a father would tell their own child to say such things

"and what did your mother tell you?" Viserys question again

"that I wouldn't have to bed you until I turn fourteen" she said honestly looking down now uncomfortable at the topic but before Viserys could say anything another voice met their ears

"Laena is that you my little lady" Anna's voice met their ears making them turn

"Anna" the young Laena shouted running into the olders girls awaiting arms making her smile "how are you my dear" she asked kissing her head

" I am well how are you can we have tea later today with Laenor we have both missed you terribly" the young Velaryon rambled slightly making her laugh softly

"of course you and your brother may come to my chambers about noon time and we will drink tea and stuff our faces full of biscuits and sweets" Anna assured the young girl looking up greeting the king with a smile unaware of the two watching the interaction from above

"Laena why dont you find your brother and tell him of our important meeting and change your dress my dear I know you are overheating in this beautiful dress" she told the young girl making her smile relieved Laena knew her mother didn't agree with her fathers choices but she didn't try hard to help her she knew Anna was giving her an out and that was confirmed when Anna sent her a quick wink making her giggle and look to the king for permission which he granted making her run off picking up the skirt of her dress to not trip

"I suppose her father pushed you for her hand as the council wishes for you to remarry" Anna said when Laena was far enough to not be heard

"you would be right" He said making scoff as she shook her head "you are close with the twins are you not" Viserys said taking her hand pulling her to walk next to him as she smiled at the action

"yes I am" she said nodding

"I need your honesty I have no idea what to do" he told her "the council continues to push me to marry and the possible contenders are not right for me"

"marrying a Velaryon would unite the two strongest houses in the realm but she is a child only ten and two she still has four years until she is of age and yes she will mature but that does not change the feeling of being uncomfortable and that it is wrong" Anna said "I agree with you there" he said

"you can marry who ever who wish as you are the king you have a choice, it matters not about offending a house because you turned their offer down choose who will make you happy and who will protect Rhaenyra and the realm along side you I am sure there is ladies out their perhaps from house stark the lord Eddard Stark ahs daughter around my age I believe and he has a widowed sister closer to yours"

----------------

"it bother's you does it not?" Rhaenys questioned the young princess

"my father is the king it is his duty to take a new wife and strengthen his line" Rhaenyra told Rhaenys

"I did not ask for a lesson in politics princess I asked whether it bothers you" Rhaenyra repeated snippily

"Laena is you daughter does it bother you?" Rhaenyra countered turning to look at the older women

"of course it does, but I understand the order of things" the women said shaking her head

"if you mean to elicit some sort of anger from me you should know that your are failing" Rhaenyra warned the women who rolled her eyes

"quite the opposite whether its to my daughter or to someone else your father will remarry sooner than late his new wife will produce new heirs and chances are better that one of those will be male, and when that boy becomes of age and your father passes the men in the realm will want him on the throne because that is the order of things" Rhaenys said

"when I am queen I will create a new order, the men in this realms dismissed your claim but not mine that is why you are labeled the queen you never was but they bent the knee and swore to me and called me heir to the iron throne" Rhaenyra told her

"do you remind your father's men of that as you carry their cups here is the hard truth that no one else has the heart to tell you the men would sooner put the realm to the torch that see a women ascend the Iron Throne" Rhaenys said stubbornly she didnt get to be queen this spoiled brat shouldn't either

"and your father is no fool to that truth" Rhaenyra added "you are right which is why he wont marry your daughter" Rhaenyra said smiling softly

"no?" Rhaenys questioned leaning forward "we are of the right blood and noble birth he could do no better"

"your daughter is a child my father isnt an idiot you are loyal to the crown because if you are not then you are seen as a traitor to the crown" Rhaenyra warned Rhaenys who scoffed leaning back on the wall

"you sit there and watch as your child tries to convince a man three times older than herself that she is the perfect bride for him it is sickening it is horrible that Anna was the one to step in and take your daughter away from that situation say what you want but I understand my fathers duty but I also understand morals as does my father he wont choose a child as his bride" Rhaenyra said before walking away leaving the queen who never was in shock

"you sit there and watch as your child tries to convince a man three times older than herself that she is the perfect bride for him it is sickening it is horrible that Anna was the one to step in and take your daughter away from that situation say...
