"Lady Alicent" A maid greeted the young lady, who had just walked into the Queen's Day chambers looking nervous. Alicent smiled and nodded at the maid, acknowledging her just as her sister turned her head hearing the maid.

"Right here, Alicent," Anna called out from her place on the balcony, turning her head to look at the door, smiling when she saw Alicent enter, fidgeting slightly. Alicent didn't have to say anything for Anna to know something was wrong and to know she needed her sister to talk with.

"Leave us, please." Anna ordered softly, letting the three maids stand up, bowing to their queen, before leaving the room and shutting the door behind them.

"Come sit, little dove," Anna instructed, giggling as Alicent clumsily made her way to her sister, plopping down and laying her head in Anna's lap.

"What troubles you, Alicent? Talk to me," Anna encouraged, running her fingers through the long auburn locks.

"I have a hypothetical question," Alicent said after a moment, closing her eyes and sighing loudly.

"Alright, I may have a hypothetical answer," she said, intrigued by what has affected her sweet sister in such a way.

"I read a book; it was in the library, and it was about a forbidden love one between two girls," Alicent explained in a quiet whisper, feeling the knot in her throat again before continuing. "They loved each other but were ripped apart by their families, shunned and shamed for having such feelings. The septa taught us that only love blooms between a man and a woman, so why was the book written if what the septa says is true?"

Anna hummed as she thought about it, trying to hide her smile as she looked at the sky. "Well, the septa is wrong; of course I truly think she knows nothing," Anna answered, making Alicent open her eyes.

"So the book was right," she asked, making Anna smile.

"It could be or could not be; there is no way to be certain, but what I do know is that love can not only bloom between a man and a woman; love can happen between two women or even two men; it matters not what parts they possess, only what their heart feels."

"But then why did the families rip them apart, forbidding them from seeing each other?" Alicent countered

"Because our world does not like change in society's eyes, women are meant for men to be used as warm cunts and fertile wombs. We are nothing more to many men, and in their eyes, men are meant for battle and glory. One day it will be different, but for now it is not." Anna explained sad that they did live in a sexist and cruel world.

"And how do you know what your heart feels? How do you know you love someone?" Alicent asked quietly, making her smile and having a feeling about why she was asking.

"Everything fits into place; you seek them first in a room; you want to talk with them; be quiet and enjoy the comfort they bring you; they are your friend; it is like a breath of fresh air when you are near them; you can't help but think of them all the time; whenever something reminds you of them, you would fight for them."

"Fight for them?"

"If you won't fight for your love, is it truly love or a mere attraction or desire? If you see yourself walking away the moment things get hard, then that is not true love. You fight and stay; that is love."

"I suppose you are right," Alicent said before asking a hard question. "And if you would fight, but they wouldn't," Alicent asked, making Anna cup her cheek.

"Love is a very hard thing. With love comes passion, happiness, and wonderful things, but it also comes with fears and pain. If you love someone and would fight for them, but they wouldn't do the same, then that person is not right for you."
