The drone was mercilessly thrown outside into the rain, like a heap of trash. Its body was badly torn and damaged; the only sign of any life was its slightly twitching fingers. The rain hit the body, slightly washing away the oil staining.

How long has it been on the edge of death?

Weeks?

Months?

Or even years?

It didn't remember, but what it knew was it was condemned to eternal suffering. It couldn't die, much to Adam's disbelief. But the cruel man knew now bounds, and kept the drone in its suffering. He abandoned it after running a few more experiments.

The drone was simply in a comatose like state. It couldn't even move as Adam continued to mock it and disrespect its body. It couldn't even cry if it wanted to. It never knew hell until it worked for Satan himself.

It just wanted to be put out of its misery.

Time went by, and mold and weed slowly grew around its body. Mushrooms peppered out of the cracks in its exterior. Its body was quite literally rotting away, disintegrating with time. But it couldn't die, and perhaps that was the consequence of all the experience done on it.

Perhaps it was retribution for blindly worshipping for the devil.

It simply existed without the means to live. And that alone, was worse than death.

It waited for death that would never come. It watched as the run rose and set, as it slowly became concealed by the deep and dense smog caused by the city. It watched as everything around him slowly died because of the man's touch.

But one day, his true savior arrived. A child no older than him stumbled on the small dark forestry that reeked of death. He felt terrified as he got a closer look of her, believing she looked more like the reincarnation of Lucifer himself than an angel. But he had learned from his mistakes that he cannot trust appearances alone.

The child approached him, its footsteps laced with elegance. The large bat-like wings around her slightly fluttered, highlighting her out of the world appearances. Two small fangs gleamed in the little sunlight left.

Perhaps, he thought, this child would finally put him out of his misery.

A wonderful gift indeed...

Death

Something that awaits everyone and everything. Nothing was to last forever, and he desired it. He desired an ending to his story.

A final chapter.

Worthy of a monster like him.

Her purple hair slightly swayed behind her and she crouched down to his level. She ran her fingers down his face, looking for a sign of life.

"She doesn't know what I am" He thought bitterly to himself.

He didn't mind though.

It was nice...to see someone like him.

After all, he never had a friend nor true companion. For the longest time he had nothing but hatred and pain.

"Rea" He thought, the girl with the dark purple hair reminded him so much of the one with dark midnight hair.

His childhood friend, perhaps she forgot about him now. Perhaps she is also blindly trusting the monster like he once did.

Or perhaps...

Adam discarded her.

The drone immediately removed such thoughts from his head, afterall, her possibility of survival had been his only salvation from reality.

Would she remember him?

The girl's purple eyes suddenly changed, strange symbols replaced them. But that lasted for a moment, before she closed her eyes. As she opened them, the little light left seemed to wrap itself around her. It gave her a more godly look, fitting of angel and demon alike.

"You have so much pain and suffering in your heart" She murmured.

She began to remove the wild vegetation growing on him. She gently brushed her fingers against his wounds and hummed a soft melody.

"You have been hurt and you have hurt, thus the story of your life" She whispered.

"But...like everyone, you simply wish to survive and be happy" She smiled sadly.

He stayed quiet as she caressed his head. She gently placed a kiss on his head and continued humming. She took his hand and kissed it too.

"You crave death...like me. We both simply exist, simply a walking body, well one of us at least...A soul without a reason is not a soul, it is nothing. You of all people should understand, " she continued.

"Do you truly wish for death?" She whispered.

He couldn't move, and never had for a long time. But her words suddenly washed over him, and he again mourned for what he lost. Such feelings compelled him to gain back control of his mouth for a slight second and he weakly murmured,

"Yes...kill me. Be my executioner my lady, and I will be free"

"That is a lie"

"You will always be bound to your grief. Always bounded to the lives you took and the blood you spilled"
