His eyes opened, as he felt the rain drops trickle down. His hair matted against his visor, and he let out a raspy breath.
"It was all just a dream, just a moment of solace for his suffering" He whispered to himself bitterly.
"Is it now?" Remarked a familiar voice.
He flinched, when he heard the voice.
"Am I that forgettable?" the voice snickered.
He blinked.
And that's when a miracle happened.
His fingers twitched, and in the next moment, excruciating pain filled his body. He let out a guttural scream and all his senses came back. The burning sensation in his body consumed him, and he clawed at himself.
Where there was once metal, skin and fleshed replaced it. The more he clawed, the more scratches appeared on his body. Instead of the familiar black liquid, blood spilled out of his wounds. His vision was restored, but it was unfamiliar.
"Let the pain pass" The figure said, watching him.
His heavy breathing filled the air.
Breathing...
He never had to breathe...what was happening to him.
"What...what did you do to me" He rasped, his fingers lacing around his throat.
"I granted your wish...I gave you life" The figure said smugly.
He crawled to a puddle, and stared at his reflection. His 'eyes' struggled to focus, but when the fog had cleared from his vision he was in shock. He wasn't a drone anymore...no...he was more human.
But not quite.
He took in his new appearance. His emerald eyes glowed as he stared. He touched his face...feeling warmth. Then his nose started to bleed, mixing into the water and turning it red. He couldn't recognize himself, there was no evidence that he was a robot...except for the small wire-like golden tattoos streaked down his body.
"Stop being so melodramatic" The figure said.
He looked up, taking in her appearance. It was the goddess-like creature from earlier.
With the exception that she was more human-like.
She looked like him
"What am I? What did you do to me?" He asked quietly.
"Hmm...I am not sure" She said curiously.
"Why...why do I look like them?" He began shakily.
Anger quickly took over his initial confusion. He looked like those monsters, the monsters who hurt him and his family.
"Why did you turn me into them? Into a monster? Into a human? And you...you're one of them!" He roared angrily.
Her eyes hardened, and she became distant. She walked over to him and bent down to him. She grabbed his chin and forced him to look up at her.
"You don't understand, don't you? Do you know what humans mean? No, I suppose you don't, but I can assure you those monsters are not human. You really think you have the option to complain about this form? Don't you get it? With this form you can stand among them and get your revenge. This form we are in...we are not the same as them. So before you complain, shut up and listen"she said coldly.
He stayed quiet, thinking about her words carefully. Yet, he couldn't help but hate himself for what he had become.
"You pledged yourself to me, we have a contract together...from now on, you are my incarnate" She continued, before she pointed at his chest.
A strange symbol marked it, glowing a soft purple.
"Don't mistaken us, the same as them. No...we have evolved...and moved on. We are not 100% human, not 100% robotic either. I am not sure what we are, all I know is that this is our future. The future for our world" She said with dignity.
"With this form, you will be able to take on a new identity and assist me. Like a chameleon, like a spy, and when it's time...you will find and return to me through your blood" She commanded, she threw him a gun.
"You have everything from both worlds" She said.
His visioned brightened, and the familiar code flooded his mind, engraving the symbol into it.
He felt himself get on his knees, like a soldier awaiting a command. His hand found his heart and he nodded.
"Yes...my goddess" He said coldly.
"Good, let your loyalty to me be your retribution. As long as you stand by my side, and help me kill the parasite in our world, perhaps...you would be saved." She said.
"Until then, I will disappear...until this body of mine is ready for what comes next. The real owner of this body...will need your help someday. She is the one you're serving...Uzi"
And with that, the girls glowing purple eyes dimmed, as if the soul was sucked out of her. She dispersed into little purple butterflies that disappeared.
That day, the boy walked back to his nightmare, with a purpose. As he reached the door, his appearance slowly melted until his hair was green. His skin was now again metal, and he knocked on the door. He pretended to be a broken robot...
And just like she planned, they took him in.
For the next few years, he would patiently wait.
He would climb the rank and reach the monster...
Until his goddess called for him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Await my command... R" Said the monster to him.
He smiled coldly, at the man who killed his family. He couldn't help the blood lust he felt whenever he saw it. He held back, envisioning his claws around the man's neck.
"Of course...sir" He replied back.
That day they left, and the moment he stepped on the Copper-19, he felt her.
Her presence.
His goddess, and she was calling for him.
It was time...time for war.
He put on a smile as she didn't remember.
"Soon" He thought.
He tested everyone around, to see if they were worthy of protecting her. He wasn't disappointed in the least, but now that he was here, he could feel her calling him.
Until the day metamorphosed.
Like a butterfly, she was truly gorgeous.
