I was walking around the flourish nature within Pandora. I'm Sofronia, I'm eighteen it's been 8 years since my family left me. I've been living in a little metal building to which I called home. I made it my life's mission to make sure I get rid of the RDA that plagues anywhere near my home.
Currently I was gathering fruit for dinner, while I hummed. That was until I was greeted by arrows and spears. Freezing from fear I dropped my fruit I was gathering, it rolled near their feet. However they didn't take their eyes off of me.
An older male Na'vi pushed them away and chastised them. "Put those away, poor Tawtute." I eyed him curiously and he placed his hands on my face. "Strange features, looks frail and scrawny." He then grabbed my arm and glared at the warriors. "This is why you turn crazy?"
Finally I found the courage to speak. "Hi, umm thank you for saving me." Quickly turning towards me, his braids whipped back as he stared at me. "So strange for one of you to be out here by yourself, with strange hair and eyes."
Immediately I knew he was talking about my Heterochromia in my eyes and my hair. The left the side of my hair is red, while the right side is blonde. My left eye is blue, while the right one is sea-foam green. "Oh, I was just born with two different eye and hair colors it's called Heterochromia, I learned about from these things called books."
The man lifted my hair and walked around me, observing. "What is your name and how old are you?" The man stopped in front of me awaiting my response. "My name is Sofronia te Tsamsiyu Heykinak'ite, I just turned eighteen." The man's eyes widened. "Tsamsiyu, huh?" I was confused by what he meant and stayed silent for a moment. One of the hunters walked over towards me. The male Na'vi in charge stopped him. "I have decided to take you with us, just be cautious. Most Na'vi there don't take to kindly to your kind."
I was guided by the man and brought into the village. The people began to whisper, snarl and glare at me. I felt so unwanted right now, it was go be expected. I was a human, my sempu told me that when I asked why I didn't look like him, sa'nok or tsmuk. When we got further into the village a strong looking female Na'vi rushed towards me and hissed. The male Na'vi got in front of me, protecting me. The two began angrily shouting at each other in Na'vi. The male Na'vi finally started to speak English.
"It's a sign from Eywa, look she doesn't need a mask to breathe, how can we reject something Eywa wanted us to find?" The male Navi grabbed my arm, pulling me forward. The female Na'vi stared at me, it made me feel smaller than I already did. "Fine, but she's Eytukan's responsibility, he will teach her."
The male Na'vi turned around and smiled at me. "I am Kamun, Tsahìk of our clan, I interpret the way of Eywa and give guidance to our people." I look ahead and stared at the female Na'vi that was talking to the concerned people as they stared at me. "Who's she?" I felt a little uneasy by her, as the woman's sharp glare felt like it could pierce me at any given time. "That's my mate, Woai. She is the Olo'eytkan, our clan's leader, she protects and leads us."
Kamun must notice my anxiousness and put his hand on my shoulder to reassure me. "Worry not small one, she'll warm up to you, my mate she's just protective is all." I nodded slowly and realized something, I didn't know who Eytukan was. "Who's Eytukan?" Kamun waved me to follow him. "Eytukan is mine and my mate's son, follow me."
We had gotten near a huge tree with a bunch of little forest sprites floating down. I giggled as each one landed on me. "I have no doubt now that Eywa wanted you here." I blinked confused. "What do you mean?" Kamun and I watched the sprites one by one, float off me. "The Woodsprites are very pure and sacred spirits, they are bearers of omens and signs from Eywa."
Kamun continued to guide me and we stopped seeing a male Na'vi who looked serious and cold. "That's Eytukan, look like he just got back from a hunt." Kamun gestured for me to stay there. He walked towards Kamun and began to talk to him. I couldn't hear them, but Eytukan looked annoyed. I noticed he tilted his head to the side and glared at me. Though in a spilt second apparently Kamun noticed this and smacked him upside his head.
I could help, but tried to hold back my laughter. Quickly I stopped noticing another glare was being sent my way, only for him to get whacked once more. Kamun turned to smile at me. "Don't worry, if he's mean, I'll smack him upside his head again." I slowly walked forward, towards the two. Kamun held me in front of him. "Sofronia this is Eytukan, my son, he'll be teaching you the ways of our people."
I smiled awkwardly as Eytukan gazed down at me, with an icy cold stare. "Okay, when do we start?" Kamun chuckled a bit. "So eager, but tomorrow, tonight we have dinner, listen to stories of our clan, dance to music and hear our songs of the people." I felt a little happy hearing all this. "That's sounds nice, it's been awhile since I've eaten with anyone or heard any music or stories." Kamun smiled leading me. "Let's not waste any time then."
When meal time came, the Na'vi people avoided me like the an illness, the would go silent in their stories or stopped dancing when I was around. In the end I decided to sit silently by myself watching the others have fun. "At least they're having fun." I was caught off guard when a meat skewer was placed in front of me. I glanced to my side and seen it was Eytukan. "Oh, Eytukan." He kept gesturing it to me, finally I got the hint and realized he was giving it to me.
"Thanks." I took a bite and smiled. "Yummy!" I loved the rich flavor of the meat and it was covered in seeds which gave it a nice crunch. "So good!" Eytukan stared at me for a bit before rubbing his thumb across the side of my mouth. "Oh, how embarrassing." I realized I had seeds on my face.
Eytukan handed me another one and I thanked him again. He watched me eat it and brought back two more. I was kind of confused by this, was he trying to say I was glutton? "Umm... Eytukan, why are you?" He kept wanting me to take the food from him.
Just then I heard Kamun laugh. "My son holds no ill will tawtute, he just wanting to make sure well fed." I was slightly confused. "Well fed?" Kamun nodded. "Yes, he's never seen a human before and you're small, Eytukan thinks you haven't been eating enough." I sighed now finally understanding. "Great, he's treating me like I'm a little kid." Kamun laughed in response. "Don't worry, I'll let him know tomorrow."
While we're talking Eytukan shoved the skewer in my mouth which startled me. Kamun smacked him again to which Eytukan stared up at him a bit annoyed. "Eytukan ftang po, salew pxiset! (Eytukan stop it, go on, right now!") Eytukan left us and Kamun smiled a bit worried. "Sorry, I assure you he's harmless, he just cares for your welfare is all." I nodded a still a bit concerned, but noticed Eytukan sneaking glances at me. "I can tell." I tilted her head in the direction where Eytukan was. "Well I guess since it might be because he's responsible for you, he probably wants to make sure you're okay."
Once Kamun left again, Eytukan came back with what looks like cups of sorts with water. "Oh, thanks." Eytukan stared at me as I began to drink water. After I was finished, he grabbed my wrist and began pulling me. He led me to a hammock and pointed at it. "What? Oh, this is my bed." Eytukan sighed climbing into his own. "Huh, you aren't going to remain there and have fun?" Eytukan just stared at me confused. He pointed to my hammock and I got the hint. "Okay, okay." I climbed into my own hammock and shut my eyes.
