It only been a couple months since I've had Neytiri and she grown so fast. She been waddling around, cooing and talking. Neytiri also has became my second shadow. Whenever she's on the ground, Neytiri is always right behind, following me, watching my every move with unconditional admiration. It made my heart melt.
"Sa'nu!" She cooed as I held her close. Eytukan came in from a long day and came into see us. "How my girls doing?" I smiled to him, excitedly telling him about Neytiri. "Oh, she's been doing great, talking, waddling and she's even beginning to eat soft food now." Eytukan picked her up and she gave a confused look towards me.
Neytiri let him hold her for about 30 minutes without fussing. This always happens, she'll let Mo'at or Eytukan hold her, but after a little while she'll be screaming for me. Same thing with her older sisters, she's fine playing with them, but the second I'm out of her sight she'll throw a tantrum. "Come here, babygirl." Eytukan sighed as Mo'at came in.
Mo'at seen Neytiri sniffling as she cooed. "I see someone was upset that her sa'nu wasn't holding her." I nodded as Mo'at teased a bit. "Yeah, she was good for about 30 minutes." Mo'at hummed putting her basket down that she used for collecting herbs. "That's 10 minutes longer, she's getting bit more independent." Eytukan stared at her clinging to me. "Such a mama's girl." I lightly smack Eytukan playfully. "Yeah, she's my baby."
I stared down at her as she giggled a bit before teething on my songcord. "It's strange, Neytiri seems more attached to me than any of my other children." Mo'at hummed at this. "It might be that she refused the mother's bonding with me." I tilted my head confused. "But, isn't that important. I let you do that because I don't have queue for it."
Mo'at nodded before rubbing our daughter's head. "You know how you can connect with Eywa without a queue, I believe you completed the mother's bonding, just by holding her." It was confused, but I remembered that glow. "That might be true, I thought it was just me being tired from labor, but I saw a glow." Mo'at nodded. "You might be able to connect with Eywa through pure will and emotion, we will have to explore more on that, later."
Mo'at took Neytiri from me, wanting to spend a little more time with her. "Eywa works in mysterious ways, that's why she's so clingy with you, I don't know how it was possible though, but we don't question it." Sylwanin walked over staring up at Neytiri. "Neytiri is a little whiny, mama's girl." Mo'at stared down at her with disapproval. "Sylwanin don't tease your sister, she's still a baby." Eytukan smirked at her. "Looks like you two are the same, you're really attached to your mommy as well and just as clingy." Eytukan pointed to her holding my hand. Sylwanin eyes for being called out for it and let go quickly, from being embarrassed.
Telisi walked up to me wanting held. I picked her up and that sent Neytiri off. She began crying, sniffling, waving her arms out to me. "It's okay, I got enough love for all of you." I held Neytiri close to me and Sylwanin got jealous. She held onto my arm pouting. "Okay, let me sit down." Mo'at and Eytukan laughed seeing me sit down for Sylwanin to sit in my lap. Atan wasn't too far behind and sat on my shoulders.
The girls spent their time talking about their day, braiding my hair. Atan talked a lot about herbs and weaving techniques Alar'at taught home as well. Neytiri just watched curiously, a little while later, she was nursing, then fell asleep. Sylwanin fell asleep, along with Telisi that were making beaded bracelets. I cleaned their strings and beads up, before putting them away. I turned to see, Mo'at and Eytukan picking up the girls to put them to bed.
I climbed in the hammock with Neytiri all snug. Eytukan came back and gave me a questionable look. "Sof, our yawnetu, we've talked about this." I narrowed my eyes at him knowing what he was talking about. "No." Eytukan tried to talk to me and I just rolled over ignoring him. "Mo'at help me."
Mo'at walked in and she began to laugh. "Eytukan let her be, wait until Sof is confident that Neytiri should sleep on her own, till then leave her be." I huffed as Mo'at climbed in the side I was facing. "Thank you." Eytukan scoffed climbing in the hammock. "I just want her to grow more independent, by now Na'vi children are already more independent." Mo'at sighed at him. "When she is ready Eytukan, but for now let the two be."
Eytukan wrapped his arm around my waist. "You're right, I'm sorry." I began to relax against him more. "I know she's got to grow up, I just want to enjoy this... just a little bit longer." Eytukan realized what I meant. "You're right, take your time." I smiled staring down at my sleeping baby that was held close to my chest.
