Hades pov
It wasn't the faint smell of her dragged me out of my unwanted fantasies, it was the fact that it was mixed with blood. I turned away from Hypnos and when my eyes met hers, fear crawled up my spine. Soon enough, everyone noticed her; clothes ripped and covered in blood. No one dared to move at least not until she held up her hand, displaying the werewolf king's head for all to see and tossing it in my direction.
It was only when her body gave out that I regained control of my own. She was cradled in my arms before she hit the floor, Ross moved closer to me and mumbled something I couldn't hear past the rage, fear and confusion I was feeling.
The entire hall was dead silent, probably still processing what had just happened. "Party's over, get out."

The days that followed after the assassination attempt went by in a blur. But a few things were more than crystal clear.
First, the werewolves had help because not only were they able to enter the under undetected but they made it as far as the inner parts of the castle. The other thing was that the poison they used on her wasn't easy to come by even for someone with deep pockets.Speaking of which, whoever had provided it knew exactly what she was because that specific poison would give true immortals a run for their money. Someone purposefully sought out the werewolf king and exploited his grudge so they could remain uninvolved. The only remaining question was who? Because Ross had no enemies that we knew of.
The poison wouldn't kill her, far from it actually but it would make her wish it would. It prevented her from using any form of magic and would trap her inside her own body. In the time she was asleep her worst fears would be played on a loop, a fate arguably worse than death.
In the four days that she had been unconscious, she showed no signs of waking up even if the poison was out of her system. In that time, Varda and Lucellion had taken it upon themselves to punish the werewolf nobles severely. Three generations of nobles were killed, and with no arguments from us. Hell if I had known what they were up to I would've gone over there myself.

I was in my office looking through documents when the door burst open with such force I thought it would be knocked off its hinges. There stood a maid, covered in cuts and bruises and not just any maid, one I had specifically assigned to watch over my wife. "Your majesty, the queen-"I didn't give her a chance before running in the direction where she came. The scene before me looked like it belonged in a mental asylum; Rossiya was awake alright, and she was losing her absolute shit. The room was a mess and she stood dangerously close to the window, holding another maid at knifepoint. Her eyes were wild, frantic. She looked like a wounded animal that would do anything to survive.
"Where is he!" She growled, sounding more animal than human. "Where is Luc!?" It felt like a punch to the stomach but I had to keep calm. "Ross, calm down." Her head snapped from the guards to me and for a split second her eyes held fear in them before switching to a murderous glare. She threw the maid to the side and was in my face before I could even blink.
Rossiya grabbed me by the neck and slammed me into the wall with such force that it knocked the wind out of my lungs; has she always been this strong? "Where is Lucellion Hades, because I'll kill that bitch of yours if you don't tell me." What was she talking about.
"Lucellion is perfectly fine," I said but her gaze didn't falter, instead she pressed the knife more against my skin, drawing blood. It burned a little which set off warning signs in my head, Ares had really done it now. "Liar!"
"You took him because that bitch asked you to!"
"I saw you, WHERE IS MY MATE!" Another punch to the gut. Had she ever called me that? I don't think so.She pressed the knife deeper into my neck, "your majesty please calm down," one of the guards said, he mustache caught up with the fact that I couldn't move a muscle. She was holding me in place. "Shut up, or I'll kill you too." Her eyes didn't stray from mine when she said that, I knew she meant it. This wasn't a threat, it was a promise. Whatever she had with Lucellion and Ares was way past the point of an affair. I could see it in her eyes, she loved them and she would kill anyone who tried to take them away. The worst thing was that a part of me found itself wanting her to feel that way about me. Ridiculous.
"Sunshine?"
Her attention went to the direction where the voice had come from and she stepped back, dropping the knife. The rage in her eyes was replaced with relief as tears started running down her cheeks.
"Luc?" He took that as a sign and crossed the distance between them, wrapping her in his embrace. Rossiya started to sob while calling out his name repeatedly like a prayer to the gods. "It's okay baby, I'm here. I'm okay, you're okay."A/N
