It was a boring evening with the bots at the base. Heidi relaxed in the human area, listening to Cliffjumper and Arcee chat. Ratchet and Optimus were working at the console, silently conversing. Finally, Bumblebee and Bulkhead were talking about a past patrol. Heidi sighed, propping her head on the railing from the couch.
"Looks like another dull day," Heidi said, pondering her thoughts. Suddenly, a loud rumbling echoed through the base. Everyone jumped, activating their weapons as they looked around. Heidi jumped up to her feet, confused.
"Decepticons!?" Ratchet said, unsure. Heidi looked up, puzzled as the bots turned to the ceiling. They charged their weapons, waiting for something to happen. Another rumble came then and Heidi realized what it was. She laughed, gaining the attention of the bots.
"Don't worry, guys. It's just thunder. A storm must be coming through. We don't get them often in the desert..." Heidi paused, listening as multiple hard droplets began hitting the metal ceiling. All the bots paused before they de-activated their weapons.
"Now that I think about it, I remember the weather forecast did say it was gonna rain later today. Guess it came early." Heidi explained, watching the bots relax somewhat. Ratchet only growled, huffing in anger. Heidi turned to him, curious as he snapped.
"Just great! The day I need to repair the antenna and the blasted rain starts." Heidi was surprised, quickly running up to Ratchet on the platform. The bots followed as Ratchet turned to her.
"You know, you could still do it. It's just a little rain." Heidi explained, happily. The bots looked at her as if she told them she exploded the energon storage vault. Heidi's smirk faded back to confusion as they stared at her. Ratchet then activated his arm computer, believing she didn't see. However, Heidi's eyes snapped to it immediately with a glare.
"Don't you dare, Ratchet! I see the computer! Put it away." Heidi said, pointing to it. Ratchet was surprised by this. He grumbled but complied in deactivating it. Heidi turned to the other bots then as they continued to stare at her.
"Now, why are you guys looking at me like I just had a tea party with Megatron? Don't you have rain on Cybertron?" Heidi said, curious. Cliffjumper stood up, chuckling awkwardly.
"Yeah, but It's pretty deadly," Cliffjumper explained. Heidi was immediately surprised and confused still. Ratchet stepped up then, taking over as he explained.
"He's right. On our planet, the rain is highly corrosive. Any Cybertronian that had the misfortune of being out in it could get critical injuries " Ratchet explained.
"Dang... Well, you don't need to worry about acid rain here. Earth may have some corrosive rain spots but they're not here." Heidi explained. Bumblebee then stepped up, signing to Heidi as he buzzed.
"Are you sure?" Bumblebee questioned. Heidi smiled proudly, nodding.
"Yes. I'm just surprised you haven't witnessed the weather yourself before." The bots glanced at each other, knowingly as Bulkhead spoke up.
"Actually, we have but we didn't know what it was so..." Bulkhead explained, awkwardly. Heidi giggled, her smirk resting on her face as she walked towards the elevator. The bots followed curiously as she continued.
"Well, Since the storm seems to be lighting up, this is a great opportunity to introduce you to it. Come on! I'll show you!" Before anyone could answer, Heidi bolted into the elevator and left to the top of the base. The bots looked at each other, unsure as Optimus stepped up.
"It would be prudent to learn about this and proceed with Heidi. So that we will know what to do in a situation that involves it." Optimus explained. Some of the bots nodded, humming nervously as they all made their way to the lift. Ratchet huffed angrily, grabbing his tools and the device before joining them.
