Announcement: Hey guys! For those of you who have been reading the connected Series, "Transformers Prime: More Humans, More Chaos," The next chapter will be taking longer than expected. It was my birthday recently and I was super busy celebrating so I hadn't had time to work on it as much. So, I made this chapter to help with the wait. I promise to get the chapter done as soon as possible! Thank you so much for your understanding and Patience! Have a nice Day!
It was late morning on the weekend in Jasper. The streets were beginning to have a small bustle while people would align the sidewalk. In the Campbell house, Heidi tossed and turned in her bed. However, after many tosses and turns, she sat up, groaning. Her eyes opened, droopily as she looked at her nightstand. She saw her hearing aids and quickly grabbed them, putting them in before activating them.
The hum of her fan entered her ears as she looked around the room. Her gaze landed on a calendar with a date circled. Heidi got up and walked up to it with a frown. Her fingers grazed over the calendar date, sighing. She then grabbed a marker and scribbled the date out. She took one final look at the schedule then before beginning her routine.
Meanwhile, Kala was finishing some special pancakes, decorating them with candles and whipped cream. She smiled, finishing the writing on it. Today was a special day. It was Heidi's first birthday with her and she wanted to make her morning perfect. She even told Agent Fowler to tell her guardian to pick her up a bit later for the occasion.
The sound of footsteps caught her attention and she quickly brought the pancakes to the table. A few presents sat on top along with some streamers and glitter. It wasn't the best but she had a few tricks up her sleeve. Soon enough, Heidi came around the corner. As soon as she did, confetti cannons popped around and in front of her.
"AH! WHAT?!" Heidi yelped, watching the confetti fall. She looked around, noticing the three confetti cannons. Two on the edge of the kitchen arch and one in Kala's hand. Kala laughed, throwing it aside as she spoke.
"Happy Birthday, darling!" Kala squealed. Heidi paused before a small smile came across her face. She laughed, brushing off some confetti as she came to the table.
"I wasn't expecting you to do anything," Heidi said, sitting down in her seat. Kala came around then, sitting next to her at the table with her own pancakes.
"Are you kidding? I'm your mother. It's my job to do stuff like this!" Kala joked. Both laughed as Kala took a lighter and lit up the candles. Heidi watched, her smile fading as memories resurfaced. Kala noticed this, becoming confused and worried.
"Heidi, sweetie, what's wrong?" Kala asked.
"Oh! Nothing! It's nothing." Heidi lied. Kala raised an eyebrow, skeptical as she stared Heidi down. After a while, Heidi finally gave in, sighing as she fiddled with her fingers.
"Listen, There's nothing wrong with this. Really! But today... I just don't see it as a day of happiness or celebration anymore." Heidi said, hugging her stomach. Kala hummed before hugging her softly.
"I know. That's why I didn't plan anything today. After breakfast, you're free to do whatever the heck you want. You can stay in the house or head to your job. It's all up to you." Kala said. Heidi smiled, hugging Kala tightly at that.
"Thanks, Mom," Heidi said, releasing her. After that, Heidi blew out her candles and began chowing down on the pancakes. To say they were good would be a large understatement. They were so delicious that Heidi was quick to eat the rest. The two had just finished when the doorbell rang. Heidi quickly got up, heading to the door. She looked through the peephole to see three familiar faces. A smile crept on her face as she opened the door. Jack, Raf, and Ms. Darby stood on the doorstep.
