❛ it's gonna take time, a whole lot of precious time ❜
𝐵𝐼𝐿𝐿𝑌 𝐷𝐼𝐷𝑁'𝑇 𝐻𝐴𝑉𝐸 𝑀𝑈𝐶𝐻 in his life to be proud of, it was the sad truth, but everything seemed to turn around when Jacqueline entered his life. Billy's grades got better since he and Jacqueline would study together, unless she was studying with Steve instead. Billy had joined basketball to impress her, but Steve was also on the team. Billy and Jacqueline would go on runs together, although sometimes she might have already gone out with Steve. It was apparent that Jacqueline felt something for Steve and simply never realized it.
Jacqueline and Steve had the connection Billy wished to have with her. He was desperate for this girl, he needed her in his life like he needs air.
Even after Jacqueline had broken up with him, he was desperate to get her back. He didn't care that she had kissed Steve because Billy knew he could do it better. He didn't care that Steve was known for his looks because Billy knew he could look better. He didn't care that Steve was charming because Billy knew that he could outdo him. Anything Steve could do, Billy figured he could do better, which was why he had spent an hour in his room getting ready with a CD he had made for her playing in the background.
Billy had already had a little too much to drink for one night, so his decision to go over to Jacqueline's house to win her back was misguided. Billy had changed his outfit about ten different times, spent twenty minutes on his hair, and struggled to find the exact cologne.
Billy did have another job tonight -- babysit Max -- but his judgement was already so askew that he had completely forgotten about the girl. Besides, all he cared about was seeing Jacqueline.
There was a sudden knock at his door as Billy was fixing his bangs a little. He glared at the door through his mirror and let out a breath before he called out, "I'm a little busy in here, Susan!"
Billy had yet to come around on his new family. He still hated his father, despised all he had to live with and Max and Susan made it no easier since he was only annoyed by them. However, it wasn't Susan that knocked on his door. It was his father, Neil. "Open the door right now!"
