I hadn't seen Nanami in two months, I knew why but Megumi wouldn't drop it. He kept asking if we were ok or if Nanami was mad at me but I deflected every question not to worry him. Gojo seemed to notice me going back to normal he had asked once or twice if I was alright but again I ignored him. But today I was nervous because Gojo's students were in a fight against students a year older then them, which meant more experience.
"Are you alright Y/n?" Iori asked softly as she placed a hand on my back. Iori was the only person from this school I had let near me, she seemed to bicker a lot with Gojo but she genuinely seemed really sweet.
"Things like this have just never gone well in my experience" I shrugged as I looked back out at the field, even though I liked Iori I still kept her at a distance.
"Oh come on. My kids can handle themselves" Gojo chuckled as he sat down on the other side of me.
"Can you like fuck off for once?" Iori growled quietly but Gojo shook his head as he crossed his arms over his chest staring at the field.
"Under strict orders to stay with her. Don't want to deal with Megumi's wrath" Gojo smirked glancing at Iori and I sighed as they started bickering over me.
"You just want a new whor-" Iori tried but Gojo glared at her as I felt my confidence shrink slightly.
"Gojo's got a new one Iori? Are you upset it's not you?" A new voice called out, glancing over my shoulder I noticed a taller, beautiful woman sit next to Gojo lightly running her hand up his arm.
"Shut up Mei Mei the only one here who likes him is you" Iori rolled her eyes turning back to the field but I couldn't focus now. Even though I was trying to ignore Gojo and put space between us, Mei Mei made my skin crawl watching her in the corner of my eye feel Gojo up.
"Hmm how could you not? He is gorgeous" Mei Mei sighed dramatically but I felt Gojo's mood shift.
"Who's this Gojo? Is she your little girlfriend?" Mei Mei asked tauntingly, I gave no reaction as my hand itched to grab my knives but Gojo moved Mei Mei off of him.
"Mei Mei! Don't be mean she hasn't even said anything to you" Iori scolded her but I shrugged as I stood up moving away.
"It's alright Iori. I think it's funny I can make someone so insecure without even trying" I smirked glancing at Mei Mei before leaving the room, needing space to breathe. I heard Iori start to yell at someone after the doors shut behind me and I sighed in relief as I ran my fingers through my hair.
Everyone had been really sweet and welcoming, I knew someone would have an issue but all of this was suffocating. Today I planned to leave for awhile just to clear my head because Iori constantly having me sleep in her room with her was beginning to become exhausting. But I stiffened as the doors opened and closed again, I reached for my knife that was now hidden in my boot.
"You alright?" Gojo asked and I sighed relaxing as I turned to face him.
"Isn't Iori scolding you still?" I laughed rubbing my forehead as he chuckled.
"No she's been yelling at Mei Mei since you left. Don't avoid my question though, are you ok?" Gojo repeated himself and I sighed looking away, Megumi told me I needed to stop hiding how I felt or things that were wrong but that didn't mean it wasn't hard not to.
"This is all.. Just very overwhelming. I can't breathe without someone questioning it and I just needed a minute away from all of that mess" I sighed softly looking out the windows at the field seeing chaos happening.
"That is more calming to you?" Gojo teased and I nodded as I laughed.
"Being out there would be better. I don't have to answer to anyone or worry about what I say if it hurts someone feelings. I know everything out there but people skills aren't my thing" I shrugged.
"It'll get easier but I know-" Gojo tried but the doors burst open so we both snapped our attention over seeing Iori as white as a ghost.
"Don't you look-" Gojo tried but I quickly covered his mouth with my curse as I moved towards Iori.
"What's wrong?" I asked softly and she pointed at the screen inside so Gojo and I both stepped inside seeing a curse in the field.
"We don't know what happened but somehow the curse entered and there's a barrier around to try and keep all sorcerers out but Gojo" Iori explained but I looked up at Gojo as he chuckled.
"Guess you got your wish. Go for it" Gojo shrugged as he went to step inside but Iori caught his arm.
"The higher uppers-" Iori tried but Gojo glared down at Iori pulling away from her grasp.
"Fuck the higher ups and their leash on her. I would rather her at my side then needing to make sure she's locked in a room somewhere because you guys can't handle her" Gojo stated coldly, Iori looked at me worried so I sighed tossing Gojo a necklace.
"Put it on. You'll be able to warp me back and feel my heartbeat, ok?" I offered which seemed to make Iori relax as Gojo wrapped it around his wrist.
"Go" Gojo nodded so I warped to the barrier pulling one of my knives out.
An hour later most of the issues had been dealt with besides the tree branch curse. But I finally lured it over to Gojo before going back to the kids making sure everyone was ok.. Until I saw Megumi with giant holes in his stomach.
