Hi yall, thanks so much for almost 800 views that is... :O actually insane. Enjoy this chapter and the next one is gonna be... interesting (in a good way ofc)

It was just another day after school. I was with Georgia, obviously.

"So what do you think?" She had just finished telling me her friend drama after I'd asked her to. She'd managed to sum it up pretty well in a few sentences.

"I don't know how things work, but it seems kind of a... stupid thing to be horrible to you over for months. Other than that the only thing I'd say is you need to watch what you're saying sometimes cause it seems like it causes you a bit of trouble." She smiled at me. She couldn't be more grateful to have someone to talk to, that she didn't have to be alone in all this.

"Wanna play cards?" She asked suddenly.

"I don't know how to play cards."

"I'll teach you, moron." She rolled her eyes.

"Oh, right. Yeah I'm sure we've got some." I started rumaging around the room a pack of cards.

"Ask your brothers if they want to play."

"No way! You don't want to play card games with Malcolm!"

"Why not?"

"BECause he always wins, dumbass." I rolled my eyes this time.

"You're such a sore loser, Wilkerson." She grinned.

"Fine, you go ask them then." I returned to looking for the cards, which I eventually found under Malcolm and Dewey's bed, along with a pair of underwear that I'm pretty sure belonged to me and each one of my brothers at some point in time.

Neither Dewey or Malcolm wanted to play cards with us, and I was glad. They said something about not wanting to third wheel while me and Georgia were flirting, which was just ridiculous. Bold of them to assume I even knew how to flirt.

Georgia taught me a bunch of card games like Scabby Queen and Poker, for which dad reluctantly borrowed us his poker chips. I didn't really get it, but it was okay cause it was her.

We sat on my floor as the room slowly grew darker and played for hours.  I wouldn't have minded if it had been forever.

There was something special about her. I just couldn't put my finger on it. Why did my heart melt when I looked into her large, warm, brown eyes?

I don't know why my heart pounded when she looked up, frowning and deeply concentrated, from her cards, and those truly massive eyes met mine, and an innocent, flustered smile immediately grew on her face, as she realised I'd been staring at her.

"What?" She laughed.

"Nothing."

"I'll give three hundred." She announced, placing three 100 chips on the table.

"I'm going all in." I pushed my small stash of chips into the middle of the floor and looked at the cards in my hand. A two of hearts and four of spades. The risk was definitely not worth it, but I didn't care anymore. She glanced at me in amused surprise.

"Okay big man." She giggled. "Show your cards." She ordered, then carefully placed out the last two cards onto the floor.

Holy shit. I had a pair of fours!

"I win!" I squealed.

"Um, no you don't. I've got two pairs." She pointed to her king and ace and the ones on the floor.

"Oh."

She pitifully looked at my disappointed face for a moment, but I must have looked pretty stupid, cause she burst out laughing.

"It's not funny!" I flustered furiously, even though it probably  was. "I'm getting Malcolm on you cause you're cheating."

"You do that."

I hurried into the living room, while she organized the chips, where both Malcolm and Stevie were doing homework. "Come help me you two." I ordered.

"No!" Malcolm snarked.

"What...is...it?" Stevie panted.

"Just come, I need your smart asses."

Malcolm reluctantly followed and Stevie wheeled through into the little room.

"He thinks I'm cheating." She told them wearily, still amused.

After a close inspection and one by one explanation of the cards, Malcolm and Stevie concluded, she wasn't cheating.

"You're...just...ass at...poker." Stevie looked prouder of himself than ever. I threatened him with my fist, ready to beat that little smirk off his face, but instead only gave him a solid whack in the shoulder.

"...Ow..."

Once Georgia thanked those losers and they left, me and Georgia were on our own again.

"I'm bored." She muttered.

"Me too." I agreed. "Want to go to the park?" She nodded, and without another word, we were off to the park.

We walked through the quiet neighbourhoods on that warm summer evening, not a care in the world. The bliss of the sun had ended for the day, leaving sky to slowly gray out.

The park was empty. So still. It seemed straight out of a pleasant childhood memory. The few pieces of equipment were so vibrant against the warm greyness of the evening.

"Oh my God." I shrieked as realisation took over me.

"What?"

"There's only two and a half weeks of school left! The holidays are so soon!"

"Oh yeah! I completely forgot!" She beamed excitedly.

We both went on the swings and proceeded to have a "who can swing the highest?"  then a "who can swing the highest and jump off the furthest?" Competition. Georgia was way better than I'd thought she'd be.

Even though I knew it was stupid, later we went on the baby swings, and I don't even know how I managed to get stuck.

"What is it with you and getting stuck in things?" Georgia was on the verge of pissing herself.

After way too long, she finally managed to drag me out of the swing, both of us ending up on the ground.

"My ass is gonna be so bruised after this it's not even funny." I muttered as both of us scrambled up from the concrete, causing Georgia to explode into fresh cackles.

Clearly, we hadn't learned anything, so then we had an obstacle race and went down the slide, which didn't even work.

"Does this slide have a problem or something?" Georgia laughed as she sat at the top, not sliding anywhere.

I'd never had so much fun at a playpark before. I already knew that it was one of those days that I would look back on fondly.
