Hi people! Thank you so much for getting this story to 600 views already that's actually so wild!
Sorry I haven't posted a chapter in a while, I just realised that I'd been trying to rush and I just have to chill. So that's why ,idk if any of you saw them, but I'd posted a chapter 14 and 15 but then I unpublished them for now. They're still gonna happen, it's just I don't want the story to go in that direction just yet. So if you read them and were confused where they went, that.
Either way enjoy and also thank you for all your lovely comments yous are all so sweet! <3
I didn't really know what was going on with Zoe and Emma anymore.
In English today, we had a free period, and I ended up playing Monopoly with these girls I hardly knew, and Emma.
We sat right next to each other, but neither of us actually said a word directly to the other apart from very awkward exchanges about rent and passing dices.
The time when we'd been best friends that would spend hours on the phone to each other when we were meant to be sleeping seemed like it had never existed.
At lunch I came to the lunch table, only to realise I'd been ditched again. They'd made up before I'd even realised. I muttered something about the bathroom to Julia and Kaitlin and left. Fuck Emma. Fuck Zoe. I was just going to find Reese.
Our school was pretty big though, so looking for someone in it was definitely easier said than done. That's why I'd never even tried with Zoe and Emma. But Reese was more important than them.
Just as I thought I might just lock myself in a toilet and cry, I saw him sitting with a group of guys in the courtyard. He was just sitting there, next to them, not engaged in their conversation at all.
That's like me, whenever I'm with Zoe and Emma.
"Hey Reese, these your friends?" He'd never really mentioned them before. He looked at me, wide eyed.
"Yeah!" He scoffed. "Obviously! But they're really really busy right now, so lets go on a walk, shall we not?" He abruptly got up and yanked my hand and off we went, very fast until we were out of the courtyard. "You know, we can start hanging out at lunch too if you want."
"What about your friends?" He didn't say anything. "You already know how fucked up my friends are."
"Yeah, the thing is, Georgia, they're not my friends. My actual ones are away on holiday." He confessed, looking anywhere but at me.
"I'm sorry." I said after a moment. "I don't know what's worse, shit friends or no friends." We sat down on a peaceful grassy hill overlooking our school.
"Georgia."
"What?"
"You're what I've always needed. My whole life has always been an overall misery, but ever since I met you, it's-it's like... I don't know how to explain it."
"You too. You're literally just what I needed. You know, we're like, really similar."
"How?"
"I dunno. We just are. Don't you think?" So different, yet the same. Social rejects our whole life, never had someone we've really felt like we connected with and felt comfortable around. Misunderstood.
"Yeah." He knew exactly what I meant. Reese was the most misunderstood person I'd ever met. "You're the only person I don't have to hide anything with."
"Yeah!" He was the only person that actually got my jokes and didn't think I was being serious and got offended straight away.
Later the bell rang and we both reluctantly headed to class.
