Hi yall, tysm for 1.2K! Enjoy this chapter! Things are starting to get reallyy good.

At the weekend, my family went out to dinner with the Wilkerson's. Mom had arranged it, even though I knew she wasn't too enthusiastic.

"Hi, nice to meet you, I'm Lois." She smiled eagerly as she shook my mom's hand, at entrance to the restaurant.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Alexandra." My mom muttered coolly. She barely ever showed any emotion to anyone since dad left. She didn't want to get hurt any more than she already had.

"Where's your man at?" Hal grinned, rubbing his hands toghether.

"Oh, he's not going to be here." Any traces leftover traces of any kind of smile were gone from her face.

"Oh, yeah, okay, that's fine. Guess I'm just going to have a fun night with the ladies, am I right?" Oh God. That did not sound good. I felt the second hand embarrassment creeping onto my face.  "You know, I don't feel too well so we might not stay for too long. Lois, is my forehead flushed? " He looked at his wife, hoping she'd get him out of this whole thing.

"Well, lets sit down, shall we not?" Lois ignored him. I had a feeling it was a regular thing he did.

"Yes, lets go." Mom agreed.

"The kids should sit separately from us, shouldn't they?" Lois asked.

"I sure hope so."

But first of all our parents gave everyone but me glares to introduce themselves. And then all of us got sent away with a fifty dollar note, to sit at a booth at the other end of the restaurant. I was kinda surprised we were trusted, but okay.

"You lot don't have an older brother or anything?" Caleb whined. We were literally like a whole parade, marching through the restaurant.

"We do, but he's away in Alaska." Reese told him.

"Fucking great." Caleb huffed.

"So wait, why are we even here?" Richard asked.

"That's the boy she's been constantly disappearing with." Kaiya pointed at Reese, as if showing him a dangerous animal in a zoo. She made it sound like we were doing God knows what.

"Why do you make it sound like that?" Reese asked before I could. Aww, he was standing up for me.

"Aww. You two go out, right?" She giggled stupidly.

"No." The two of us gave her deadpan stares.

"Well you two are sitting next to each other, I don't care." I was kinda grateful, I couldn't lie.

"Yeah Georgia, because this is all your fault." Caleb sneered. My siblings love me so much.

That's how I ended up being squeezed on a sofa next to the three Wilkerson brothers, opposite my four siblings that didn't want me anywhere near them, it appeared so.

Finn was at the wall, then Richard, Kaiya, and Caleb at the end. Dewey was at the wall on our side, then Malcolm, Reese, then me.

"So..." I said, since everyone was just having an incredibly awkward stare down. All their eyeballs darted to me. I didn't actually know what to say, so now I just put myself on the spot for no reason.

"Yeah, this is so much fun, thanks for getting me stuck for the next few hours with a bunch of annoying children." Caleb snarled sarcastically, before I managed to say anything. I mean he was the oldest, but by not even two full years.

"Yeah? Do you think anyone wants to be here?" Malcolm snapped back. Oh my, these two would either be best friends or worst fucking enemies.

"When are we gonna get food, I just want to get out of here already." Malcolm moaned, as if he was suffering for millions.

"Can you stop bitching for a minute?" I snapped at him.

"What, do you just want to sit in silence?" He snarked.

"Rather that than listening to you." I'm pretty proud of that one, I have to be honest. It wasn't original, but the fact that I'd thought of it in such a short timespan, was what really impressed me.

After a moment, the waitress arrived, and we all ordered our food. I tried ordering the cheapest stuff, because money. I was surprised we were going out to dinner in the first place, but she probably wanted to impress them.

"This is boring." Finn stated the obvious, as we all waited for our food. He was the youngest, I felt bad that he had to deal with us.

"Yeah, it is." Dewey agreed. "You wanna go look at the fishes?" Finn nodded. There was a huge hassle that lasted for a solid moment of everyone getting up, and letting the two of them out, then sitting back down. I wasn't sure I trusted Dewey with my little brother, he probably meant eating the fishes rather than looking at them, but oh well.

"Uhm, so Kaiya, you and Malcolm are the same age." I said, as I realised no one was going to say anything. I just realised that Reese's arm was comfortably wrapped around my shoulders. Not quite romantically, not quite in a friend way.

Ever since that kiss, I really wanted that closeness again. There he was, right next to me, but I felt so judged, on edge and watched, I couldn't do anything.

I even wasn't sure what we were anymore, but it didn't matter. We didn't need any labels. I felt safe.

"Yeah, we are." Kaiya muttered nastily. Her and Malcolm were  having a dirty look stare down this whole time.

"So, do you know each other?"

"Sadly." Malcolm spat. Ooh, beef! I'd never seen him that pissed to be honest.

"What happened then?" Richard muttered, bored. His elbows were on the table, his arms propping up his head.

"Well-" Malcolm began.

"We're not going to talk about it." Kaiya cut him off. There was fear in her eyes. Oooh, secrets??

"I wanna go look at the fishes too, y'all are boring." Richard sassed suddenly, looking at Kaiya and Caleb expectantly to get up. They hastily did, let him out, then sat back down.

Our siblings were clearly dull as fuck. And everyone was fucking pissed out of their minds.

After a fuckload of complaining from both Caleb and Malcolm and me drinking three glasses of water, our food finally arrived. Dewey, Finn and Richard came back to the table and we all finished eating pretty quickly, and after that, the three boys were gone again.

Malcolm finally loosened the bitchy act a little and tried starting a some chitchat about school with everyone that was left at the table. After a few moments, I realised it was just to show off how smart he was, but I didn't really care. He can boast all he wants, inflate that ego of his to even higher amounts.

I had to go to the bathroom after all that water, and when I came back I intentionally sat closer to Reese, my leg right next to his, just to feel his warmth. He looked down at me, his cute face just daring me to kiss it. He hadn't said anything basically the whole time we were here. Not like him at all. I wanted to ask if he was okay, but I found myself also unable to choke any words out my mouth. Not really sure why, but I didn't really care. That was a thing I noticed grew stronger in me whenever I was with Reese. I stopped giving a fuck about the stuff that I usually did. It was so freeing. He made me feel free.

"Malcolm. I fucking hate you so much." The harsh words of my sister brought me back to the table.

"I'm going to ask mom when we're leaving." Caleb jolted up, not wanting to hear any more shit from that bickering old married couple.

Shortly after, Caleb came back with our mom, seeming almost as eager to leave as him. I felt bad for poor Lois and Hal, it didn't seem like their dinner was particularly enjoyable.
