After almost drowning in self pity yesterday, I couldn't say I felt better today.

I was sitting outside school at one of the picnic tables at lunch break with Zoe, Emma and Julia and Kaitlin, these girls we've been recently hanging out with.

"UGh, I literally hate sitting outside, my hair is going to get so puffy from the rain!" Zoe complained angrily. It wasn't even raining, there was just an occasional droplet. But it was enough for her  to complain.

"Fine, we can go inside then! Christ!" Emma snapped. Someone's pissed. "Are yous coming?" She looked at me, Julia and Kaitlin. They both shook their heads but I heaved my backpack up and followed them. I didn't even know why.  Yet again, I was just hoping that they would be different.

"Bye!" I said to Kaitlin and Julia and we went into the cafeteria and sat down at our usual table.

"I'm so annoyed at Isla Kettman, guys." Emma said. Isla was just a random girl in our year, so I couldn't possibly think why she was annoyed at her.

"Why?" Zoe asked.

"She was flirting with James today." She sniffed. "Like I get it. Everyone likes male attention, but she just likes too much of it." Mate literally fuck off. You would do anything to just a guys attention for a second. I didn't even bother changing the subject to anything else, because most times I'd be ignored anyway.

"She flirts with everyone! Shes such a fucking pick me." Zoe growled. Says the two biggest pick me's in the school. I just prayed I wasn't like them.

"Like, so does her whole friend group, literally no one likes them, who the fuck do they think they even are? They're all so judgemental it pisses me off." Said the most fucking judgemental person ever. And I wished that was an exaggeration.

They're such hypocrites I've had it.

They had gotten so fucking annoying recently. No, they'd always been annoying.

I had to pretend I was so interested in their gossip, but if I said anything, they'd say I was either whiny or some stupid shit.

"I think I'm going to stop liking him." They literally think having a boyfriend is the most important thing in the world and, if anything, that fucking pisses me off. Like if a guy came along that I liked and he liked me, sure, but not trying to force myself to like some random dude.

"I'm so glad we came inside." I fucking wasn't. It literally pained me to listen to these bitches whine about their non existent boyfriends all lunch. But did I have another option? Of course fucking not.

"Same." Zoe muttered. "Ew, there's Ava." She made a disgusted look as Ava walked past.

"I hate her so much. Her hairs disgusting. And that skirt is the ugliest thing I've ever seen." Emma hissed. I always wondered if they talked about me like that when I wasn't around.

"Guys, yous want to hang out after school today?" I asked. I didn't really want to myself, but at least I would get out of the house for once.

"Okay, I'm not doing anything."

"Neither."

When I got home, as usual, I changed into my joggies I'd been wearing for the past week, and got a fresh shirt. I phoned Emma.

"Hi Emma, we're still going out, right?" I asked just to make sure.

"Actually, no. I can't. Zoe told me that she can't either by the way."

"Oh. Okay. Nevermind then." I hung up. Just great. Fucking Great.

I couldn't really be bothered doing anything. Kaiya was in our room again, and I couldn't really be bothered with her right now either. I took the keys to the garage out of the drawer where I'd put them back yesterday. I went to the garage and threw myself face-first onto the sofa. After a second, I lifted my head up and my eyes landed on the shelf full of movie DvDs. I was gonna watch a movie. I lazily got up and picked out my favourite movie, Stand by me. I put it in the DvD player and turned the old Tv on. I sat down on the sofa and curled up in a blanket.

After maybe 20 minutes, it wasn't a pretty sight. I was crying my eyeballs out. It felt like such a relief. Stand by me was simply just a huge warm hug. Even if it was a constant reminder that I didn't actually have real friends. That was the thing that made me cry most. I wanted friends like Chris, Teddy, Gordie and Vern. Ones that would go on a two day trip with me, to see a dead body or not. I wanted to hang out with my friends, not a care in the world, too. With real friends. That were always there for you. For the good and the bad.

A/N: If you haven't watched Stand by me already, YOU HAVE TO. It's an amazing movie!

(Things are about to get good soon!)
