Chapter 25 - Trust 1

"Pfft...! Hahahaha!!!" Rio was laughing at Karino because the other missed out on the opportunity of a free meal from Kotarou! "If you're curious, I can put banana into our curry and let you have a taste of it. Who knows? Maybe Kotarou's curry is better than mine." 

"That guy just waltzed in and took my free meal away. I hate him." 

"Don't be such a hater for no reason, Old man." Rio was coincidentally making curry so Karino will get a chance to eat something for free in the end. 

What happened? Some guy called Tasuku came to visit Kotarou. He's a young man with blonde hair and the way he's dressed looked like he's a host.

"I actually met Tasuku before you did. He was waiting for Kotarou for quite a long time." Rio said to him. 

"What? He was lingering outside our apartment for that long? I don't think I like that very much."

"It's a good thing for Kotarou. You said Kotarou was very happy when he saw him. He's very flashy but I'm sure he's a good kid." 

"You call him a kid but you're not even that much older than him. Wait- How do you know his name?" 

"Because he was hitting on me." 

"What?!" First it was his free meal and now Tasuku hit on Rio?! Now he had another reason not to like the young man! "Say that first! H-how did you reply to him?!" 

"I told him I like older men and that he's too young for me." 

"Don't say it like that- I am old but not THAT old!"

When Rio finished making curry, Ruri noticed the change in the flavor as she ate with Rio and Karino. "Nee-chan, it's different from usual!" 

"You noticed? I added bananas in. Do you like it?" 

"It's different but I like it. Shin-chan, do you like it?" 

"I'll like as anything as long as it's free but this is a very tasty curry I've had so far." 

Rio smiled at his words. Looking at Karino and Ruri like this, she could imagine what it'd be like if she had a child with him. She will leave that to the future though. She won't tell him what she just thought because he will go way over his head. 

'If Ruri is not her sister but our child, we'd look like a family...' Little did Rio know, Karino was thinking about the same thing as her. He won't tell her what he thought though! 'I won't say a thing because Rio will make fun of me!' 

Ruri cutely chewed her mouthful and she couldn't help but wonder to herself that her sister and Karino were on the same wavelength yet again.

"Rio-chan~! Let me get that for you!" Tasuku saw Rio was doing the grocery shopping and he thought he'd help carry some of the bags for her. "Uwoah-?! It's heavier than I thought?!" Since they're going the same way, he'd thought he'd go together with Rio. He liked to be away from the city's nightlife every now and then. He liked Rio because he thought she was down to earth and cute in her own way. 

"Oh, Tasuku. You've been visiting Kotarou quite often. You two sure are close. Here, you can carry the lighter ones." 

It's week 2 of Tasuku visiting Kotarou. While Kotarou's very happy about the everyday visits, Rio and Karino couldn't help but feel there was something off about Tasuku. Some days, he will come over to visit Kotarou and then leave in less than an hour. It was as if he came for something and then once he got it, he's gone. Rio and Karino chose not to intrude too much because at the end of the day they're just Kotarou's neighbors. All they could do was keep an eye on things and make sure nothing went wrong.
