Chapter 27 - Shin-chan's dilemma part 1

"Well no shit she's going to be pissed! You let a woman, your ex girlfriend, to live in your home. Of course Rio is going to be pissed." Tamaru sighed as he downed the can of cold beer. He couldn't believe Karino came to him for advice and it's about resolving the problem when two girls were fighting. 

What happened? It all started 3 days ago because Nitta Akane, Karino's ex girlfriend, had a fight with her boyfriend and she knew Karino lived around the area so she decided to live in his place until her boyfriend had the 'common sense' to apologize make up with her. Rio, who found out about Akane, did not like the arrangements tried to get Akane to move out. Karino was in a hard position because he knew Akane had no money to go to a hotel and he certainly did not have the money to lend to her.

"You can resolve this by kicking your ex girlfriend out." 

"T-that's a bit..."

"See, this is exactly WHY Rio stopped arguing with you and just gave you the middle finger. If I was her, I'd regret fucking with you." 

"Please don't say it like that, Tamaru-san..." Karino took note that Tamaru somehow knew Karino's relationship with Rio had gone up a level! 

"The middle finger...you mean like this?" Both adults had completely forgotten there's a kid here! Tamaru's babysitting Ruri tonight as Rio worked elsewhere. "Papi, what does fucking mean?" 

"Holy- no, no, no, no, sweetheart! Don't say that naughty word!" Tamaru stopped her from flipping him off with th middle finger!

"Why is it a bad word?" Ruri wanted to know. She thought it was funny to see how Tamaru and Karino were dawned to her existence in this very room. "And can I have a snack?" 

"I'll give you a snack if you don't tell Rio about that naughty word and don't do the middle finger ever again." 

"I want two snacks then." 

"Deal." 

"Yay~!" Ruri got extra snacks! She felt very accomplished! She wanted to tell Rio about it but Tamaru reminded her yet again why it's bad for a little kid like her to do and say stuff like that.

"You will know when it's time to do that. Right now, it is definitely not the time." 

"Okay." 

Karino gave out a sigh of relief; if Rio finds out about this, he's toast! Why didn't he think 'we're toast'? Because Tamaru will definitely pin the blame on him and Rio's already annoyed with Karino so she will definitely believe Tamaru out of spite. "Argh...just when the relationship is going well...!"

"You need to go back to your boyfriend." Karino said to Akane, who was eating senbei rice crackers while reading manga. He retuned to his room at some point. He thought he could wait for Rio to come home but Rio did not come back. Seemed like she will do an all nighter and be back in the morning instead. Karino could not deal with Rio right now but he could chance it by getting rid of Akane. 

"Eh...don't wanna. I'm comfortable here~." 

"I'm sure you are! But you are bothering me by being here! Rio has been ignoring me since the first day you're here!"

"Shin-chan, don't be like that. Besides, I'm doing you a favor. If you date that girl for real, everyone will be looking at you with weird look in their eyes." 

"Hah?! That's your reason to mooch off of me?! And don't use the age gap between Rio and I as an excuse to be here!"

"It's fine. Besides, maybe this will give her the opportunity to find someone closer to her own age. Shin-chan, she's 10 years younger than you. No matter how you see it, she's not going to relate to a 30 something year old man."
