Ved's pov -
"But I don't want to go," I whined.
"Baby, you haven't met grandma and grandpa in four years. And now that you'll be debuting, you won't get time to meet them after." My mom replied.
I guess she was right, being a trainee itself was hectic, I can't imagine how busy the schedule's gonna get once I debut.
"Okay, fine Mom, I'll be there. Are Annie and Ezra also coming?" I asked about my older siblings, hoping they would come. I needed entertainment, and who better than them?
Annie is the eldest, being four years older than me. As a child, I remember her being very moody. But when I left home for training, she was the sweetest older sister every time I came back home. She would always have my back whenever I messed up something. She got married to her long-term boyfriend, Naveen, last year.
Ezra is two years older than me and has always been my partner in crime for anything and everything. Our favorite thing to do together is annoy Annie and Mom, it's so fun. He's a chef at a restaurant and cooks the tastiest food.
"Ezra will be coming, but Annie won't" she replied.
"Why is she not coming? She's always chilling anyways." I complained.
"How can you forget that your sister is pregnant? She's in her third trimester, so she shouldn't risk it by flying. Make sure to call her and check up on her from time to time. I know she's older than you, but that doesn't mean she should be the one calling you all the time." My mom scolded. Oh shit, how could I forget that my sister was pregnant?
"Jeez, chill out Mom, I'll talk to her," I replied.
"Okay baby, I'm gonna hang up now. Dad and I are going out to buy groceries. I'll book the tickets and mail them to you. Make sure you reach the airport on time. See you soon my love, take care, love you." She spoke.
"Bye Mom, love you too," I replied before hanging up and calling up my sister before my mom talked to her. She picks on the third ring. "What is wrong with you, how could you forget that I'm pregnant? I've chosen Ezra as the good uncle now." She scolded.
How did Mom inform her so quickly about me forgetting her pregnancy, when I had immediately called her after hanging up Mom's phone?
"I'm so sorry. I think it's because of all the practice and stuff. I promise I'll make it up to you soon." I tried to get myself out of it. Getting myself out of scolding from my mom and siblings has always been easier. Being the youngest and the most pampered one has its perks. As a child, I always made a pouty face to try to be cute and get away with my mistakes, but now I don't even need to do that because they're just so used to it.
"It's fine Ved, I just want you to take care of yourself, okay?" she spoke.
"Yeah, I'm fine. And about the 'which uncle" thing, I was anyways planning on being the fun uncle, so, Ezra can be the good uncle." I said while smiling to which she just laughed. "How are you though? I heard the baby is a boy. I'm so happy for you guys!" I said excitedly.
"Yes! Naveen and I are super excited too! And I'm doing well, Naveen's been taking good care of me." She said smiling. She then went on to gossip about some of our relatives and the questionable things they do. She hung up after that because she had to go to a doctor's appointment.
As soon as I got out of my room, a sock was thrown right at my face.
"Oops, didn't see you there." Said Samar nonchalantly.
"Clearly", I replied sarcastically.
"Come on, have some food.", he said, pointing at the pizza kept on the table.
