Vani's pov -

"I promise, I didn't spoil it. It was already like this, I swear!"

I heard Talia scream fearfully as soon as I walked into the kitchen eyes going straight to the empty oven. "Where's the brownie tray?" I asked confused.

"Here." Talia replied pointing towards the sink.

As I got to the sink, I saw that the brownie I baked for Josh and Sam's friends was completely burnt.

"Oh shit! I completely forgot about it because I was packing. I'll have to make it again" I complained.

"Oh, well, your fault," Talia spoke casually as opposed to her terrified face just a few seconds ago and I just stared at her uninterestedly while she walked past me outside the kitchen.

"By the way, I've booked the cab for the airport for tomorrow evening, so don't worry about it." Talia informed me before I heard the door to her room being shut.

I started making a new batch of brownies and put it into the oven for baking. I decided to set an alarm too, in case I forget about it again.

Earlier this morning, I had texted Rehan asking if he could meet me in the evening, and thankfully, he said yes. I told him that I needed to talk to him about something and I'm glad he didn't ask further about what it was. It's better to just talk about this in person.

I started getting ready after packing the brownies with me so I could give them to the guys by myself. On the way to meet Rehan, I informed Sam that I'd be dropping by to give them the brownies, so he asked me to meet him at a grocery store nearby.

"Hey!" He greeted me as soon as I reached the outside of the grocery store.

"Hey! How long have you been waiting?" I asked.

"Not as long as I've loved you." He spoke casually with a smirk.

"Bro, just take these brownies and leave." I laughed.

"Why you gotta be so rude, man? Anyways, where are you off to?" He said.

I decided to tell him about the Rehan situation.

"The fuck? That asshole! How could he? I'm coming with you, he needs some upper jaw cut." He spoke angrily showing some boxing stance.

"Oh gosh, Sam hold on. It's just a guess that it might be him. And no, you're not gonna come, you'll spoil it even more if he's the one spreading rumours." I spoke trying to calm him down.

"Vani, who else will spread those rumours if not him? It's not like there's anyone else who hates you" he asked.

"Yeah, but he also doesn't hate me, right?" I spoke.

"Dude, I don't know,, but at least let me be somewhere at the side, just in case." He said.

"What– noo, not at all. Remember the last time you and Josh spied on me and Alex? You guys pushed him to the ground and punched him." I said with an annoyed expression.

"Yeah, because he was being too much." He said.

"He had just asked me out and I had said yes so he was supposed to be able to kiss me, without worrying about my friends hitting him!" I reminded him.

"Yeah, we didn't know he asked you out and then kissed you. We thought he just forced himself on you." He defended with a pout.

"Okay fine, don't sulk now. But you cannot come. I'll let you know what happened." I said.

"I don't trust that guy one bit. You better let me know what happens right after you're done meeting him. Alright?" he asked.

"Yeah I will update you. Bye, see you." I smiled at him.
