The last five months had been mentally tiring for Vani. There were lots of things going on in her mind.

The first one being her job. She had just started working in the company that James had told her about. She was currently in the training process. Her actual work would start two months later. Aubree was a renowned company in the United States that created clothes for celebrities when they needed to attend an event. Her training included designing clothes that would go live on Aubree's website. The main part of her job would be at another company that had a tie up with Aubree for designing clothes for the people who were a part of that specific company. She was a part of a team of five people including herself and they were led by Mr. Ackerly, who was a hard-working man in his early thirties.

Her other team members included, Natasha – an extroverted girl who had just graduated from university like her, Julie – a single mom to a three-year-old son, Ethan, Eric – a happy-go-lucky British guy who loved to dance and finally, Nick – the guy who always had the best jokes and was very kind.

Her team members were amazing to work with and made work a lot easier with their presence. Her schedule was the hectic part. She had no time to meet her friends, of course, except Talia who lived with her. She had very limited time to speak to her family. She hadn't even thought of Joshua and Samuel's well-being. The bracelets she bought for them were still kept in her drawer.

Her job happened very quickly. As soon as she landed in L.A from Paris, she got a mail from Mr. Nancy who had asked her to meet. Upon meeting Vani, he was quickly impressed by her communication skills and her commitment and will to achieve great heights. He suggested her to start working with the company as soon as she can. So, she had joined the next day as she couldn't contain her excitement of finally feeling like an adult.

Though she loved being in a job that she had always dreamt of, it was very tiring and hectic. But she told herself that working hard now will only give her relief in the future and with this thought she decided to do her best at her job.

The other thing that bothered her was the fact that though she was done with university, there were some people who had texted her asking about her and Rehan. She was confused as to why people were still bothered about it. She had always been lowkey in university, then why were random people messaging her about something that didn't even concern them? She tried to not think much about it and hoped for everyone to forget about the nasty rumour flying around. She couldn't even text Rehan about this situation as he had clearly specified how he was going to stay away from her for some time and she didn't want to interfere in his space or disturb him.

The main thing that bothered her the most were the memories of the man she met in Paris.

Milo.

The man whom she had started caring for. The man whom she was finally starting to feel affection for. The man she started liking. The man whom she missed.

She tried hard to tell herself that 'you're not going to meet him again', bur her heart and mind weren't co-operating with each other. And even if she were to meet him someday, she still wouldn't be able to be with him.

One of the main reasons she broke up with Rehan was because she had stopped liking him. She never loved him, in fact, she was too far from loving him. If only she had realized that he had started loving her, she would've broken up long back.

All her life, she has been afraid of finding a partner and loving him and then falling out of love. What if she feels unloved? Sadly, Vani had major trust issues. The only people she trusted was herself, her parents, her brother, Joshua, Samuel, and her group of six girls. These were the people who had spent time with her and known her the longest.
