Vani's pov -

"Oh my god Talia, what the hell!", I screamed as soon as I entered our flat.

"AAHHHH Oh my gosh Vani! What if I dropped it?", screamed Talia with a frantic face, holding a damn tooth in her hand.

"How do you expect me to react when you're holding a tooth with some part of gum in it?" I asked while keeping my laptop and keys on the table.

"Okay, I'm sorry to scare you. I wanted to study some part of the gum after a tooth is removed, so my professor gave this to me." Talia replied sheepishly.

"I would've asked how your teacher got this, but I don't want to know," I said, to which she just gave a fake smile.

Talia and I have been roommates since the first year of my bachelor's degree in fashion design and her first year of BDS (Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery). I've just finished my final year exams and Talia has one more year left to complete and we are ready to go for our trip to Paris.

I started walking towards my room as soon as I heard my phone ringing. My face lit up as soon as I saw the name on the screen.

"VANIIIII"

"Joshua, calm down dude, how are you and how's the training going?" I asked laughing.

"I'm doing alright. The training has its ups and downs but I'll be fine." He replied with a hint of sadness.

"You'll get through this soon. I believe in you. Just work hard and you'll be alright." I said trying to cheer him up. "And why did Samuel leave the coffee shop? Is he okay?" I asked worried about my other friend.

"His schedule's got back-to-back practice and he's super busy writing songs, so he couldn't manage it with working at the coffee shop. And don't worry, he's doing fine too." He replied.

I've known Joshua and Samuel for almost my entire life. they're kind of like my brothers at this point. We've always lived right next to each other; our families are still neighbors. None of them want to move away from each other.

When I dreamt of becoming a fashion designer, these two boys dreamt of being idol singers. They wanted to debut in the same group, so during high school, they started auditioning together in every company they could think of, even the international ones. After a year of rejection and tears, they finally got into the music company, Voyant. In junior year, my friends left for L.A. to achieve their dreams. Though they were in the same country, it still hurt to be away from them. They were my confidants. I would tell them everything, from the fights I had with my brother to the boys I had a crush on. After they left, it became difficult for me to make friends again. Going to school felt scary since they were the only ones who made it bearable. My mom felt that I needed a change, so she took me to meet them in L.A. Since then, for a year, we met once every four months to catch up.

But after I left for my University in L.A, we tried meeting each other once every week and it has been going well, because tomorrow is the day we've to meet.

The boys are set to debut this year in November with nine other guys. Their group consists of all Americans, but each boy has a descent from another country, so basically, this is like a multi-national group, which was the company's prime focus, according to what Samuel explained to me. Though both, Joshua and Samuel were born and raised in America, making them American, Joshua is half Vietnamese through his dad and half American through his mom and Samuel is half Korean through his dad and half German through his mom, who is also half American.

I've only heard about the other boys of their group but never met them, and they've heard about me as well since Joshua and Samuel have decided to keep me a secret from the staff of the company until they debut, so they meet me secretly. Their company has a tight hold on their trainees, and there are many policies and rules to be followed by the trainees like a 'no-dating' or 'no-getting involved with any female' policy. They just don't want any misunderstandings with their company and it makes sense to stay away from that kind of drama.
