Annie barely made it back in time for her curfew that day, falling almost dead asleep as soon as she reached her empty room and bunk bed.

Hitch still hadn't recovered, nor had Annie seen the other girl in the days following the 57th expedition.

Now the Survey Corps most definitely knew she was the Female Titan, she rationalized. And with the military in control of the government, her position would most likely be compromised in the following days. Her superiors would most likely be informed of her treachery and attempt to set up a trap to catch her somehow.

She was betting on that.

Being stuck WITHIN the inner walls was a blessing and a curse now. A blessing in the sense that she was safe from the ongoing war in Wall Rose and a curse in the sense that her every movement was going to be tracked from there on.

'What are they going to use?' She wondered.

Would the Survey Corps try to use her old comrades? Maybe. Ever since the failure of the 57th expedition, there had been no news regarding the status of Eren Yeager. People assumed that he would be handed over to the Military Police anyway regardless of the coup or not.

Maybe they'd try and ambush her on a patrol route through Stohess?

"Keep it up, Annie!"

"That's my girl"

Pant...

Pant—

"What are you doing, Annie?! No breaks!"

It was only a short 5 hours, but she stirred from her sleep as the sun peaked over the walls.

'Hitch is still not here...' She thought, remembering the first day she was stationed in Stohess, where the slacker and rather carefree Hitch Dreyse introduced herself only to be sent off to a warzone only a few days later.

Has it really been a month? Maybe a little bit more, but...

Shaking her head, Annie got ready for the day ahead. The schedule for the day was probably in regards to Eren Yeager's handing over to the Military Police, in which the convoy carrying the Titan Shifter would be passing through Stohess on its way towards the capital.

Her branch of the Military Police would be tasked with escorting them and thus they would be granted temporary permission to use their ODM gear just in case.

The real threat of an attack was plastered within each soldier's mind. All of them have had some form of encounter with the terrorists, whether it be attacks on the walled districts, or their farms being burned.

This would probably be her last shot...

"Hey, Annie," Armin Arlert's distinctive voice called out to her.

...To complete her mission.
