I flopped in my chair and placed my head on my desk. After countless of surgeries I was fucking beat. I took a few minutes to breathe before I got the energy to clock out.
I grabbed my things before heading out the door. I walked to the parking garage and yawned.
"Someone's sleepy."
I looked up at the voice and smiled.
"Jay." I ran into his arms and hugged him tight.
It's been a few days since I've last seen him and I miss him.
"Hey gorgeous, you ok?" He asked.
"Better." I mumbled into his chest.
He rubbed my back and pulled away creating a little space.
"You sure you ok?" He asked.
"Just a long day." I said.
He pecked my forehead.
"Let's go." He said.
"Actually, I have to go to the grocery store." I said.
"Ok, we can go to your house and drop your car off and go together." He said.
"I have to change but ok." I nodded.
We got into our separate cars before heading to my apartment. I changed into some much more comfortable before stepping out of my bedroom, Jay smiled and grabbed my hand before we walked out of the door.
"How was work?" He asked.
"It was long and tiring." I said getting into the car.
I watched as he got into the drivers seat before pulling off.
"Have you been getting any sleep?" He asked.
"Not much." I mumbled.
"Why?" He asked.
"Nightmares." She said.
He looked at me before looking away, these past few days I've been having nightmares. They stopped years ago but now they made there dramatic return and it's stressing me the fuck out.
"What are they about?" He asked.
"Sweet care." I said.
"Have you actually healed from the things that happened at that place?" He asked.
"What do you mean? I'm over it, I got out and made a good career." I asked.
"You buried it." He said.
"So?" I asked annoyed.
"Gorgeous, all I'm saying is maybe try therapy. Even if your foster mom hasn't apologize it'll be good to forgive her for your sake." He said.
I sighed and took a deep breath as I rubbed my temples, the last thing I wanted to do was sit here and talk about my trauma.
"Can we please talk about this some other time? I just want to go home and make a nice dinner and relax." I asked.
"Ok, I'll drop it but eventually you'll have to talk about it." He said.
"Not today." I said.
He chuckled and placed his hands on my thigh.
"Ok, how about we make some ice cream sundaes and watch a few movies." He suggested as he parked the car.
I looked at him and smiled.
