I don't know if that was the first time he'd said he loves me but I know it wouldn't be the last

"mi querido chico amante" he smiles at the nickname

"Now we probably should get up" he groans

"Can't I just stay here with you?" I laugh

"Come on Benny it's almost the end of summer" he nods and rolls over so he's beside me

"I will be back in a bit I'm going to change in the bathroom" I say grabbing some clothes

"Okay ill change after you" I go into my bathroom closing the door

"Oh my god yes fuck yeah!" I whisper yell doing a little celebration dance

I calm down then change into some different clothes

I walk out and see benny with a disposable camera smiling holding his hand up like with the rock sign or whatever it is called

I go up and he put his hand down and I kiss him as he snaps another photo
Like so:

"Why are you taking pictures?" I ask as he puts the camera down

"Because I realized that if a guy comes up to you and tries getting your number when you say you have a boyfriend you got no evidence of it" I laugh

"So you should have photos to show them" I nod still laughing

"Okay lover boy now go get changed so we can play baseball" I pat his chest walking away

"Fine darling" he whispers in my ear before going into the bathroom

I can feel my face go red

He gets changed then we leave to head to the sandlot

"Hey guys!" I yell walking to all the boys who were impatiently waiting in the dug out

"Oooo I see the bets off who owes who $2.50?" Squints asks eagerly

Me and Benny had been walking holding hands I look at him

"Benny owes me money" I smirk

"He broke the bet last night by kissing me" I tell the boys as they looked like they wanted every detail

"And I'd do it a thousand more times" he wraps his arms around my waist

"Okay let's get playing we're losing daylight" I say grabbing my bat

"You're starting to sound like Benny!" Bertram comments as they get up heading to theirs spots

"Lover boy may I bat first?" I stare longingly into Bennys eyes

"Yes my darling" I jog to the pitching mound

(Bruh I fr forgot what the mound was called till now 😭😭)

"Give me your heater Kenny!" I yell

"You sure you can handle it?" I nod

"Fine! I dare you to hit it!" He winds his arm and chucks the ball

I focus on the ball as it rushes towards me

I swing hearing a crack then I drop the bat and start running

I get to third and almost fall face first but catch my balance

"Nice hit" Bertram says

"Thanks not my best but whatever" I sigh

I see the ball flying and start running to 4th base

I make it with ease

I then take squints place in second base as he goes to bat

He hits the ball it going straight to fourth

Timmy passes it swiftly to third before squints could get there

He starts running back to second when Bertram passes it to me and I catch it

This continues a few times before he touches third

We continued this cycle of switching spots as we do every other day

It's amazing how we never get bored of doing the same thing again and again everyday

Ham was now on the pitchers mound and he missed Kenny's first pitch

"What was that give me something I can actually hit!" Ham yells

"you should give him a tennis racket maybe then he'd actually hit something!" Squints yells and everyone laughs

Then ham points his finger in the air trying to be like babe Ruth everyone started laughing

Kenny then pitched and ham actually hit it

I watched as it went up and over mr myrtles yard

Ham was smiling as everyone started getting mad and throwing their gloves at him

"Hey hey! Hey!" He yells as he runs the bases

"Now we can't play no more ham!" Benny yells at him as we all walk to get our stuff from the dugout

"Well now what do we do!?" Tommy says sitting on the bench

"I am just going to go home" I say picking up my bat and glove

I start walking away as I feel a arm wrap around my shoulder

"Can I hangout with you today?" Benny asks as we continue walking

"Sure but I'm not doing anything fun I'm just gonna have like a self care day you know?" He nods

"What does that entail?" We walk the same way we always did

"Face masks painting my nails working out or stuff like that" I smile

"Ok" we continue talking as we get to my house
