Darcy Arlo Carrington

"Took you long." I raised my brow at Karnal.

"I was chatting with Duchess." He said.

"About?"

"Your Grace, being possessive won't lead you anywhere." He said making my blood boil.

"And getting into someone's business won't get you anywhere, Karnal." I glared at him but he didn't look scared because he knows, I cannot do anything to him because if I do, the commoners will do anything to get me out of this empire. That's the kind of bonding they have with Saint Karnal.

He is a young man with white hair and golden yellow eyes which almost says he is God's favourite.

"I asked her about her appetite, strength and everything that concerns her health because this is what I'm suppose to do here." He shot a look at me.

"What happened to her?" I asked.

"She's just suffering from malnutrition and stress which is making her weak." He replied without using any formality.

Apparently, he cannot stand me and he hates me since the first time we met. Probably because I'm the polar opposite of him.

I nodded and gestured him to get out of my sight. I hate the way he act like he isn't scared of me.

He really isn't.

I went inside Katherine's room and saw her looking outside the window while still siting on the bed. She looked stressed and distracted.

"Precious..." My sudden voice made her flinch and she immediately looked my way and smiled.

I went to her, sat on the bed beside her,  held her hand and kissed it, "Why have you been skipping meals?"

Her expression turned confused. "Pardon?"

"Karnal said you are suffering from malnutrition." I spoke.

"Oh- yeah!" Katherine exaggerated.

I raised my brow. "Why have you been skipping meals?"

"I- I didn't have an appetite for the past few days." She said.

"Why? Is something bothering you?" I asked, getting a lot worried than I should be. She can't skip meals just like that.

I cannot let her do something like that.

"Nothing. Really. I just didn't feel like eating thats all." She smiled. "You worry too much, Darcy." She caressed my hair softening me.

"I worry too much, hmm?" I raised my brow, "Yes I do worry quite a lot when it comes to my lovely wife." I held her hand and kissed on it.

She turned red by the sudden comment. I chuckled at her cute reactions.

"Darcy, what would you do if suddenly I disappear?" She asked out of the blue, not making any sense.

Just the thought of it scares me. The thought of living alone, not being able to see that face and smile, the kindness, the warmth, makes my whole body tremble.

"Why are you. . ."

"I'm just saying!" Katherine spoke before I could. "I'm not going anywhere."

"Even if you do, I'll be there with you even if you hate it." I replied, kissing her hand continuously.

She blushed. "How kind of you."

"His Majesty The Nova found out." Adam informed.

"What?" I couldn't process what I just heard.

"He somehow found out that Your Grace and Lady Katherine is in a contractual relationship. He demands to get Lady's hand after the divorce." Adam  explained.

"Tell him to keep dreaming." I said.

"He's asking for you. Your Grace." Adam replied.

I nodded and went to that cunning man.

"May I know what you are plotting, Your Majesty?" I asked glaring at Vincent.

"The one who's plotting something with your own wife is you, not me, Your Grace." He smirked.

"What I do with my wife isn't your concern." I shot a glare at him.

"It is one of my concern since she's someone I adore and love."

"It really brings me at peace to know that Katherine has a 'cousin' who loves her." I smiled showing his position.

"Relations doesn't matter." Vincent said. "The only thing matter is the heart, Your Grace. I believe you cannot understand what I meant because you don't have one."

I stepped forward towards him. He is a tall man but not taller than me. He's at least 2-3 inch short. "You seemed to have a lot of knowledge about me, Your Majesty The Nova."

He hesitated but still had the urge to speak, "Everyone in this empire knows isn't it?"

"Hmm." I looked at him in suspicious shich was enough for me to know he's hiding something. More like, he's plotting something. "The details, Vincent. Its the details you are including. It's too vivid."

He gulped. "W-What do you mean?"

"I would like to know your source of information about the Royalties of the Empire." I said, folding my arms.

"What source? I don't know what you are talking about?"

"Who told you about the divorce and contract relationship?" I asked directly because he's sweating right now.

He scoffed, "Spies aren't meant to be found out, Your Grace."

I stared at him with a glare, "Do not test me, Your Grace. I am capable of finding anything even the number of mice in the palace."

"Finding mice is rather easy than catching a thief don't you think so?" He shot a glance, "Well, I'll see how you work on that. But ones you lose, I'd like for Katherine to be my wife and Queen." He smiled and left the room leaving me in rage.

This sunshine bastard turned out to be the devil in disguise.
