"Katherine would've married me instead if this were the case." The sudden familiar voice interrupted making me relax for the first time.

I turned back to see Arthur standing and glaring at Selena with his blue eyes which turned dark.

"Y-Your Majesty." Selena quickly stood up from her chair. She curtsied.

While, I slowly got up but Arthur tapped on my shoulder for me to sit down. What?

"What brings an unknown Lady to the Mansion. I am slightly curious." Arthur spoke as he rubbed his chin, dramatically. "Not that it is my business but it involves Katherine so that grows my interest. Explain yourself, Lady."

Arthur was gentle and polite in a very rude way. I could sense his tone that he is pissed.

"I-It is n-nothing, Y-Your Majesty. I-I am just here to p-pay a visit to the Duchess." She tried to explain.

He raised his brow. "You have a trouble speaking, don't you?" He asked in a rude way. I wanted to laugh right now.

There was no doubt that Darcy and Arthur are brothers.

"Y-Your Majesty. It's just that...I-"

"Alright." He stopped her. "As much as I overheard-"

"What do you mean, you overheard, Your Majesty?" I interrupted but not that I mind.

He looked at me, smiled. "It was unintentional." He shrugged.

I doubt that but I still nodded.

"Back to what I was saying. . ." He looked at Selena and his gaze became serious and his eyes darkened. His face turned way scarier than he normally is. "How dare you disrespect the Duchess."

Selena flinched and I looked at Arthur curiously. It really made me happy that Arthur was supporting me here because in the original novel, Arthur adored Selena like his own sister but many readers in the fandom said, Arthur was in love with Selena but the author didn't show it as it may make the story a little bit complicated.

The story is indeed changing in a great speed. Not that I cared, either way I'm going to have to disappear and the way the story is changing, I guess my time will soon come. I cannot bear the pain of leaving Darcy alone.

Karnal still didn't come to meet me so I guess he couldn't find any solution. It is hopeless to even think about a way out of it.

I will have to tell Darcy everything and I don't even know how.

"N-No I did not mean to d-disrespect the Duchess...I just wanted to-"

"Oh lord. . ." Arthur rubbed his forehead. "Your way of talking is annoying the headache out of me." He looked annoyed.

"I-I am sorry, Your Majesty. I will take my leave." Selena said as she looked ashamed and embarrassed.

Serves her right, I guess.

She left leaving me and Arthur alone.
