You are all going to hate me :) Just saying. OK well here it is! You know what to do when your done!
The screaming crying, I decided, was much worse with two than with one. I pushed Jace gently.
“What?” He groaned.
“Your turn,” I mumbled.
“No, I went last time,” He said.
“Fine,” I muttered, climbing up. I shuffled to the door, running my hands through my hair.
I walked down the hall to the nursery. I opened the door and the screaming got louder. UGH.
“Shhh,” I whispered. I picked up Kali first, she took the longest. Kendal began to scream even loader. I sighed and picked him up too. I paced the room bouncing them. They wouldn’t stop. The door creaked open and Jack peeked his head in.
“Sing to them,” He said. I wrinkled my eyebrows at him. “They like it when you sing,”
“How do you know?” I asked. I’d never sung to them before.
“When you sing to yourself they like it,” He said. He sat on the ground. He was suffering from the lack of sleep too. I shrugged and began to sing them a lullaby. They cried harder.
“No, they like ET and stuff like that,” He said. Strange little kids. I started singing ET. They stopped crying.
After singing them three songs they finally fell back asleep. Jack was still leaning against the wall, fast asleep. I scooped him up and took him back to his bed.
“Mommy,” he said.
“What?” I whispered.
“I want Daddy to tuck me in,” I dropped the covers in my hand. I hid the hurt on my face.
“Daddy is sleeping,” I told him.
“Ok,” He reached down and pulled the covers up. I ducked to kiss his head, but he dodged me.
“Mommy, I’m to big for kisses,” He said. I gave up and left. I went back to our room. I laid down in bed.
“Jack says he’s to old for me to kiss him,” I said.
“Just a stage,” Jace mumbled.
“He wouldn’t let me tuck him in,” I whispered.
“It’s just a stage,” He repeated.
“He wanted you to tuck him in,” I sighed.
“It’s just a stage,” He groaned.
I huffed in defeat and turned over on my side. Jace reached for me. “No,” I grumbled, throwing his hand back.
“Don’t be mad,” He whispered. He reached over once again, I let him pull me against him. He kissed my forehead, “I’m sorry.” I stayed silent. “Pwease?” He begged, copying Jack. I still didn’t say anything.
He sighed and sat up. I smiled in victory and turned over trying to get some sleep. The next thing I knew Jace flopped back on top of me, purposely putting as much of his weight on me as he could.
“Jace,” I shrieked.
“Forgive me,” He laughed. I tried to shove him off, but it was no use, he was much stronger.
“Crushing someone to make them forgive you is frowned upon!” I yelled, pushing him.
“Say it,” He sang.
