lando pov.

i was cleaning the kitchen when i saw niamh walked out of her room, all freshened up. "good morning, again" i say and she smiled looking at the cherries that were on the table in a bowl. "morniiiin" she mumbled, giving me a small toothless smile.

she picked one up and looked at me. "sorry, 2 hour flights are too long" she said and i chuckled. "yeah? well as long as you're feeling refreshed sweetheart. a good nap never hurt nobody" i tell her and she picks up a couple more cherries. we'd been up pretty late last night, and she'd woken up at around 7 again. i sent her back to bed, letting her sleep in a bit more because when maeve encourages on more sleep, you know she's serious. she used to run us like military, up and out by 7 am everyday. niamh's said it out loud a couple times as one of the reasons she likes monaco more, she gets to sleep more.

i passed her a small plate for pits and looked at the time before looking back at her enjoying the cherries.

smiling, i ruffle her hair lightly. "so, what do you want to do today? except for go swimming. gotta wait for that one, it's way too sunny and you don't want a sunburn in the beginning of the summer"and because that would only make her birthday more special but i wasn't going to ruin that surprise yet.

"what if that's all i wanna do?" she says dramatically and i grinned. "well then young lady, i will just go out to eat monaco dry of pasta with with max. you'll be fine with just the ocean water, no? salt, fish all the goodies"i teased her and she gasped. "i'm gonna tell mom about this" "do it" i said and changed my mind when i saw the glint in her eyes. "don't actaully tell her-" she laughs in victory and i just look at her. kids can be...yeah.

"okay. then can we go karting already?" i smiled wide, feeling the enthusiasm radiating off her as she asked.

"sure. we can do karting and first gelato of the break today. as many round as you'd like" i knew maeve didn't take her karting, it was our thing. maeve didn't particularly enjoy it a lot, the closest i was able to get her to karts  was arcade bumper cars. she loved cars but the poor girl would get motion sickness every time i tried to take her around in a dual kart, she had the liking for the thrill but, i don't think she enjoyed it. niamh didn't necessarily have the passion for it, but she liked it. i knew it was just her way to find a common ground.

"okay, i'll go get my stuff" she said before picking up the plate of cherrie pits and locating the dustbin. i pat her head before sending her off to get ready while i clean up myself.

i grab a pair of caps and my sunglasses, tossing the pink barbie mclaren cap onto niamh's head. she turned got up from the couch and turned around to face me as she fixed it, rolling her eyes up to see. "pink?" she asked with a smile and i nodded.

one thing about niamh, for someone who was so closely associated to papaya, seeing her love for what i'd call- 'guava' colours was odd but i've learned to love all the pink and green in the world because of her. i love her to death.

"you're giving this to me because you don't want it back, right?" she said and i scoffed. "ouch. where did that come from?" i ask as we get into the elevator.

"i mean you could probably sell it if you sign it for twice the price" she says getting into the car and i give her a side eye. "what have you been doing to the other things i've been giving you?" "i'm  not going to sell it dad, i was just saying, y'know... things that could  be done. just a little ebay page, a little photo and boom! year's supply of gelato money" i rub my right palm over my face as i drive out, trying to hold back my laugh. "you're one of a kind naimh. one. of . a . kind" i said, glancing at her and she gave me a big smile.
