maeve pov.

"tell me , what are the two upto exactly?" i asked max as he drove us to the pier. "well, having fun. lando may or may not be teaching her how to back flip off a yacht right now. they're good, no hospital trips so far" he says and i massage my forehead. "okay. i won't freak out when we get there" i say and max smiles. "i mean you could. seeing lando shitless is entertaining" "what goes through your head?" i asked him and he shrugged. "its usually just pietra, momentary flashes of lando being trying to be cool, video ideas and that's about it really"

"thank you for coming and not sending lando." i say as we reach the pier. "ofcourse. i understand, its okay. you really don't have to explain yourself" he parks his car near the coast.

i fixed my hair in the car before getting down, slapping down some sunscreen and concealer to not look like i've been at the airport for the past 10 hours. max didnt rush me, he just waited outside the car, looking at the sea. i gave myself one last look in the rear view mirror before getting out of the car. it was only after i got out of the car i realised that it was lando's mcl765lt. i took a moment to admire the car before walking up to max who stood with my suitecase near the dock.

"shall we go?" i nodded and we got onto the boat. i noticed lando and oscar standing on the back deck as we approached the yacht. oscar helped up take the bags up and i climbed up, looking around. i looked at lando who gave me a small smile before tilting his head to the side. i turn back and see niamh running upto me. "mumma!" "nia, ah baby happy birthday!" i say hugging her and she screached, taking me by surprise.

"mom~ i'm soaked" she says pulling away and i smile, pressing a long kiss on her forehead and wrapping my arms over her shoulders to hug her again. "i don't care. i just wanna hug my baby" i said and she laughed even more, nuzzling her face in the crook of my neck like she used to as a baby.

"okay enough, you're embarrasing me in front of oscar piastri" she mumbled and i couldn't hold back my laugh. "yeah?" i asked, pulling away. she pushed her  hair back and looked at me. "are you coming in the water yet?" she asked and i let out a cough. "give me a minute. i actually want to go drink some water first" i tell her and she nods.

"oh you need to see the deck first" niamh gasps, grabbing my arm and pulling me to the front deck where lay large cushioned seatings and all the railings had balloons on them, floating high and ofcourse, the wall had the the banner that lando sent me a picture of the other day. "wow. looks amazing, doesn't it?" i asked her and she nodded with a big tight lipped smile, her eyes almost disappearing. she usually did that when she wanted to keep herself from screaming out loud. i heard lando chuckle from the side at niamh's excitement.

"i'm going to go get changed now. be careful if you're going to flip again" i tell her and she nods before freezing. "oh you know" she said sheepishly and i smiled. "just be careful" i tell her and she nods, going up to pietra who stood in one corner with a bottle of water in her hands, waving at me.

i located the room, bumping into max on the way once again. "you can use that one. all of niamh's stuff's there too" he said and i nodded. "thank you" i tell him and go into the room, putting my bag down on the vanity. max had already set my suitecase in the corner so that was quite helpful. i hung my coat on a chair to dry out before grabbing my things to get changed and freshened up. i chugged down a little bit of water first and then got ready.

i combed through my hair, putting it into a braid and changing into a set of sea-green athletic bralette and the shorts set that had a matching waist band and were black below. i contemplated between this and a bikini and felt this was the more suitable choice and i went with i grabbed the large linen shirt i had brough as a cover up and put it on, buttoning it up halfway and grabbing my aviators. i left my phone in the room to charge and walked back up and out to the deck.
