maeve was really pissing me off right now.

i couldn't handle the mixed signals and she was being too moody-and i'm definitely overreacting right now but i can't think straight around her. not anymore i can't.

the tattoo had me fascinated. she never wanted one, i'd almost forgotten about it until last night when i caught a sight of it and i'm not proud of the fact of how long my eyes lingered over it.

the pool, the lights, the hug? i dont even know what was going on then but i liked it, however, it was all too much just for her to distance from me today.

the moment she'd walked out in that redbull hoodie, she hadn't given me a look.

maeve had breakfast with melanie and even rode with her to the winery. the only reason i think she'd sat with me at the tasting class was because we had been assigned spots according to their guest list.

i couldn't quite get the hang of the wines but the cheese was fantastic. watching maeve enjoy the wines was more than enough to intoxicate me.

"maeve, do you have the dress ?" i heard melanie ask maeve as we walked to my ride for today. "you can come take it and then just keep it, mels" maeve said and i stopped walking.

"you're going on a date with that guy from yesterday?" i asked melanie, and she hummed. "really? or is it one of your pre-games?" melanie frowns. "i'm going on an actual date. he asked me before the sex which, by the way was-"

"nah nah nah-no." maeve cut her off and i furrowed my brows. i was trying to ignore her too but she'd spoken up in the middle of a rather interesting conversation.

"we're not discussing how it was. you, i'll drop by with the dress and you-" maeve turned to me.

"styles is a good guy, don't worry. although, he might be too old." melanie shrugged.

"it works it works. he's under 40 and that's all i need" melanie said before winking at maeve and walking away after whispering something to her. melanie had game and the brains but she'd never really dated anyone for too long. as a man, i had nothing but respect for her but rich men have ego issues an having their girlfriend overpower them at work was, a tough pill to swallow for them. her relationships were mostly well off with people older than her.

i loved that having melanie around made maeve more comfortable but it also meant that i had to fight her glares. we may have been good friends but maeve was literally her other half. i fully believed that she'd fight me off if maeve and i went wrong.

"you're deep thought, care to share?" maeve asked as we reached the hotel. i didn't even realise we were already here. i had been out too long.

"i was just thinking how we might be able to grab some good lunch if we leave in time" i say and she frowned. i stared at her, hoping she didn't forget about our plans.

"lunch? oh paris. right, clouded mind. umm, i'll need a little while. there's some work i need to get done. i'll do it mel's room and meet you in the lobby later. is that fine?" she asked, playing with her ring. she was shaken up and it didn't make sense. did i say something wrong?
