THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS WERE FILLED TO THE BRIM WITH ROMANCE. Arlina spent hours talking with Alec in the castle — by the fountain, in his assigned room, just walking around the halls.
The only problem was that Jane didn't agree with the couple, she hated the Cullens, she only wished she could kill them every time she caught sight of them but she wouldn't go against her Master's wishes.
Alec took off to find his twin one morning, hoping he could convince her to at least get to know Arlina. He found her in her room, at her desk, writing in her diary. He cleared his throat, catching her attention and began to speak, "Hello, sister. Could we talk?"
"Of course, what is it that you want to talk about?" Jane questioned with a raised brow, Alec walked over to her blood-red couch, taking a seat, and she turned in her desk chair.
"Arlina." Alec responded with a hopeful smile but she just grimaced, Jane had a small feeling the conversation would be about her but had faith it wouldn't be.
"What about her?" She span around on the spinning chair and opened her diary back up again, picking up her pen.
"I would love for you two to meet... properly." Alec fiddled with his hands in his lap, and bit the inside of his lip. To say he was nervous would be an understatement but he knew that if he could dream, he'd dream of the two people he loved most being acquaintances. Arlina would be open to being friends with Jane, and he sensed that already but Jane was a hard girl to crack.
"No." Jane spat, frowning down at her pen, she was so angry about what her brother had said that she forgot what she was writing about, "Leave. Now."
"Jane, please-" Alec was cut off when Jane jumped up out of her seat and sped over to him, chucking him out of the bedroom. She made sure he was okay and slammed the door on his face, Alec stood with a frown that could only express sadness, and some shock.
Alec wasn't taking no for an answer, but decided it was best to try again another time soon so he could give his sister more time to calm down. Jane and himself were known for having tempers, and because of their dangerous abilities, the both combined made the two all the more menacing.
"She'll come around, just give her time, Alec." Demetri spoke, he had appeared alongside Felix from down the hallway with small pitiful smiles plastered onto their faces.
"Yeah, eventually." Felix nodded, the two walked down the hallway and guided the dispirited boy back to his bedroom, where Alina was sat reading a book in his windowsill.
Jane could only scoff when she heard the conversation on the other side of her door, she hated Arlina and that would never change.
"So, how did it go?" Arlina asked as Alec walked back into the room, she closed her book and placed it beside her before standing from where she was sat. When Alec didn't respond with words but with a sad pout, she moved forward and embraced him tightly, "I'm sorry, Alec."
"It isn't your fault, love." Alec smiled miserably into her red-hair, taking in the scent of strawberries, "I just wish Jane would at least try to be civil with you and put her grudge towards your family past her." He mumbled into her shoulder and wrapped his arms even tighter around her waist.
"Let's just hope she comes around one day. From what you've told me, she'd do anything for you." Arlina stated, it made her sad for Alec but also confused. Confused about why Jane hated her & her family so much, she wasn't sure what they did and she was sure she didn't do anything negative towards Jane. Maybe it was the fact that the Cullens were vegetarian vampires? Or even the fact that they had a human apart of their family?
"I'm not so sure about that anymore..."

"YOU LIKE MUSIC, RIGHT?" Alec questioned from the bench they were sitting on near a forest on the outskirts of the little town. Arlina had just hunted and he suggested he come along to which she agreed, enjoying his company.
"Definitely, Edward taught me most of the stuff I already know about different genres of music." Arlina smiled, she kicked at the grass beneath her boots with a smile, looking down at them. Alec, however, couldn't focus on anything but her face, and he couldn't think about anything but how beautiful she was — you could say he was totally head over heels for Arlina.
"Which is your favourite genre?" He raised an eyebrow, smiling at her enthusiasm and she looked up at the sky as she thought. She quite liked classical, but that was mostly because of Edward considering that genre was his favourite. There were a couple of times where she was forced to listen to hip hop and pop music by Alice, and she enjoyed a big chunk of that but those still weren't her favourite. Emmett had her listen to Rock once in 1998 and she was in love with it — but it still wasn't her favourite. Then, she got stuck on Jazz, that was the style of music that Jasper brought to her attention and she fell for it. She listened to Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker and even Kenny Dorham.
"I suppose Jazz, Jasper made me listen to Davis once in the 90s and I couldn't stop listening." Arlina giggled at the memories, it was one of the first times she & Jasper had bonded and she was glad it happened, Jasper is an amazing guy with such passion for so many great things.
"I've never listened to Jazz." Alec said, he felt his non-beating heart squeeze at the sound of her giggle and he grinned more than he ever had before — she really was a blessing.
Arlina's jaw dropped and she raised her eyebrows as high as possible, she was in shock that he'd never listened to the sound of heaven before, "No way! Well, if you don't mind, I'd love to show you some one day."
"I'd certainly be interested in that." He smirked, and once she began to beam towards him, he reached over, taking her hand in his. The sudden action would've made Arlina blush if she wasn't dead, she looked down at their hands and tried to hide her huge smile.
The couple sat in the peace for a couple more hours, enjoying quietness of the nearby forest, but eventually they made their way back to the not so missed castle, continuing on with their daily plans. Arlina would sit in the guest room & read the rest of her book and Alec would go to the throne room to feed with the rest of his coven before sitting with Arlina, watching her read in silence.
Oh, if only she knew the chaos going on back at home.
