|| saying goodbye ||

SHE FELT TEARS PRICKLING AT HER EYES AS SHE WATCHED HER MATE AND HER TWO NEWFOUND FRIENDS PACK UP THEIR CAR, all of her emotions were just building up in the last few days and now they were ready to be let out, the sad thing is that she couldn't let them out — she couldn't cry, or sob, only dry sobs but that would make her look pathetic, wouldn't it?

"Are you all ready?" Arlina rubbed her eye gently as she sniffled, smiling at them and they all responded with a nod. Bree — and the rest of the family — soon joined her side, wrapping her arm around her sister with a comforting smile.

Demetri walked forward, hugging Arlina swiftly and then moving over to Bree, whispering to her although everyone could hear him. Then it was Felix's turn, almost crushing Arlina under his weight as he patted her back.

"Careful, Felix, I may be immortal but you can still crush me." She told him and he quickly moved back with a guilty, tight-lipped smile.

"Sorry." He winced and she smiled softly, reaching up and patting his cheek, causing him to chuckle and he moved over to Emmett, giving him a quick hug along with Rosalie. The three had gotten close recently, but Arlina called it, she always thought Emmett and Felix were similar, if not the same exact person with the same exact personalities.

Alec moved forward next, even though he had already said goodbye to Arlina, he wanted to say it again, "I love you, beloved." He whispered into her ear as he hugged her tightly, and she giggled at the new nickname, fighting the urge to cry, despite the fact that she physically couldn't.

"I love you." Arlina kissed him softly on his lips and he smirked as she pulled back — Felix and Demetri moved back over to the car, the shorter one jumping into the back seat, and the taller Volturi getting into the driver's seat. They could've ran, and swam, their whole way to Italy but considering they had a lot of luggage, they decided against it.

"Remember, I owe you." Alec winked and quickly kissed her on her forehead before she slowly walked backwards, and pulling the passenger door open when he reached it, careful not to pull the piece of metal from its hinges.

And with one last goodbye, they began to drive off, watching through the side mirrors as Bree hugged Arlina, alongside Alice and Esme, who also piled onto the hug. They all scattered when Emmett attempted to hug them because he was cheering in the process, annoying the four girls. Jasper laughed loudly, and Emmett shot him a glare, walking towards the blond, ready to play-fight him.

"All I did was laugh!"

"HOW ARE YOU FEELING?" Esme asked as she sat down beside Arlina at the dining table, watching the girl read her book in silence. The redhead turned to look over at her, and closed her book, smiling sadly.

"I'm pulling through, I just miss him." Arlina shrugged, and Esme gave her an apologetic look before she moved forward, wrapping her arms around her adoptive-daughter.

"You know it will be hard at first, it was probably hard for him too when you left him after you visited Volterra but he got over it too, because he knew he'd see you again soon." Esme patted her back and pulled away, tilting her head to the side, "You'll see him again soon, Lina, I have no doubts. You could even ask Alice, she'd agree with me."

"I believe you, Esme. Thank you." Arlina smiled softly and Esme kissed her daughter's cheek, standing up from her chair.

"And, I think Felix and Demetri are quite fond of some of our family members so they'll definitely be back pretty soon." Esme beamed and walked away from the table, leaving the girl with her thoughts.

Arlina couldn't help but think about the night prior when they had their first more intimate moment, and when they first told each other they loved each other. It was definitely a night that Arlina wished she had on film, but of course, she didn't and she had to remember everything off of her terribly memory.

"Whatcha doin'?" Alice strolled up, placing her elegant self on the table, staring down at the redhead and Arlina rubbed her face with a smile.

"Reading." Arlina picked up her book and wiggled it around in the air before she placed it back down onto the table lazily.

"Boring!" Alice rolled her eyes, lying fully onto the table with her small arms spread out, "I was thinking maybe we could go on a shopping spree on Sunday in Port Angeles?"

"Sure." Arlina picked at the sleeves of her black shirt, nibbling at her bottom lip. Her hair was tied up in a high ponytail, and if it wasn't, she'd be pulling at it in that moment.

"Yay!" Alice jumped off of the table and ran to find Rosalie so she could ask her, along with Esme, "We need to have a girl's day!" Alice exclaimed in the hallway and she heard Rosalie groan loudly in her bedroom.

"Be quiet, Alice!" Emmett called out, causing Arlina to laugh and then she heard a loud bang coming from Emmett's room, "You too, Arlina!"

"Oh shush, Emmett." Arlina chuckled and shook her head, picking up her book again and opening it back up to page 234. She could still hear Alice's voice sounding all throughout the house, so she moved to the front of the house, sitting at the doorstep, trying to find some sort of peace so she could enjoy her book.

It didn't take long until Alice was back, standing in front of the redhead with her hands clasped around hers, "Come on, Arlina, we need ask Bree!"

The smaller girl pulled Arlina up from the ground and dragged her all the way into the woods towards where Bree was sitting with Seth at the river splitting them from the Reservation.

"Bree!" Alice exclaimed, running over to them. Shopping and fashion got the girl so excited that she didn't even know when she was acting over-dramatic and way too much for some people, so Arlina decided not to blame her for it, "Will you go shopping with us on Sunday?"

"You came all the way out here for that?" Bree raised a brow, glancing over at Arlina who shrugged, before she quickly nodded, confused, "Why not?"

"Oh, my gosh! This is so great! Girl's day, girl's day!" Alice danced a little and ran back over to Arlina, pulling her back towards the house, screaming out celebrations.
