Extra Chapter: Dating Rumor

Sena got an emergency call from Pledis to have a meeting responding to Joshua’s dating rumor. Park Jinhee has sent her the briefing details to get her opinion during the meeting and necessary actions to take. It has only been a month since LA and she just had a couple of dates when Wonwoo is in Seoul. She knew she should focus on giving her professional opinion and follow the clauses in the artist contract and also the company’s standard procedure dealing with rumor.

It felt like a jolt in midsummer to make her realize it could happen to Wonwoo and his career if the public would ever find out about them. She convinced herself that it will be okay, the members no longer have the dating ban and it is encouraged to not make it public. They can if they want, but it is among themselves to not do it to protect the team and the fans. Jeonghan has been known among them to have been dating an actress and Minghao is dating his childhood sweetheart back in China. There is no trouble so far. They have Park Jinhee who is an expert on diverting public attention. The fact that Sena hasn’t told her about her and Wonwoo, makes her start thinking how it will affect the company relationship as she is the appointed account owner.

The world around Sena feels like moving in slow motion as she keeps repeating the solution for Joshua’s case in her head on the way to HYBE building. She did that to distract herself from her true feelings as she is most needed in such a situation. Sena arrived at the meeting room just before the meeting was about to start, most of them were in the room already which is natural for them to look at her as she came in. It is just her head messing with her telling a different meaning when it is just another fire-fighting meeting. She slightly bowed and put on her corporate smile to everyone in the room, Park Jinhee saved the seat beside her before the CEO Han started the meeting.

“What is the statement from Joshua on this Park Timjang?” the CEO asked right after he opened the meeting.

“Negative, sir. He is not dating the model as accused in the media.” Park Jinhee answered. The CEO looked at her like signing her to go on with the report and situation she got in the meantime. She gets the cue, “The negative sentiment mostly gained from the k-netizens, meanwhile the international netizens are mostly responding positively to the chance that he is dating and mostly other members too. So far there is no damage to the sales and the promotions.” Park Jinhee ended her report.

“How about Joshua? How did he take it?” the CEO asked Song Jaehyung, the manager in charge of Joshua.

Jaehyung looked hesitant, but then he answered, “It gave him a little setback, sir.” He took a deep breath, “He felt unfair as he didn’t even know the model and she is riding the wave and utilizing it more to increase her popularity. Which is not helping with the situation.”
The CEO looked at Jinhee again and she didn’t seem to have anything to share with him or agree with Jaehyung.

“Is there anything we can do to the model, Yoon Lawyer?” the CEO asked Sena.

She took a deep slow breath before answering to get herself together, “I have looked into the profile, Sir. She is not under any agency and is a freelance model. She models for several local brands and has a small youtube channel. That too, has been bashed by some of the k-fans. As Song Jaehyung mentioned, she rides the wave by sharing more of her styling videos according to the k-idols image, not specifically Joshua. However, I could tell that she is a fan of him looking at her style and choice of clothes.” Both the CEO and Jinhee looked at her, which Sena couldn’t really tell what it meant. So she just cleared her throat as she got nervous.

“I don’t know that you know about fashion, Lawyer Yoon.” the CEO commented on her quick findings on the presentation, with Park Jinhee also slightly nodding at her agreeing to his statement. “What is your resolution towards the situation?”
