ElianaI woke up feeling woozy and confused before everything began to strike me all at once. I slowly opened my eyes to be met with pitch black. I stood up, my sore body causing me to struggle. I tried to look around for any instances of light, "Hey." I tried to say but my voice was groggy and low. I cleared my throat and tried again, "Hey!" I put my arms out and tried to walked over to a wall, "Hey is someone there?!"
"Will you shut up?" I came to an immediate halt at the sound of another woman's voice. "Good she listens."
I tried to figure out where in the room she was and distance myself from it, "Who's there?" I still tried to feel for a wall, I needed to get out of here. My fingers met nothing but air the more I walked forward, and I was beginning to grow hopeless. "Who are you?"
Only my footsteps filled the loud silence as I waited for her response. "If you're looking for a way out, you won't find one so I would sit tight and shut up."
Her attitude was unwarranted. "How do you know?" I scoffed and still tried to find a wall, sitting with my back against it would ease my anxiety.
"Because that's the way it always goes." My hands finally came in contact with a smooth surface and I put my back against it sliding down to the floor.
The confidence in her voice caused something horrid to swirl around in the pit of my stomach. She was sure of what she knew, and what she knew sounded like it wasn't in my advantage. "How does it go?"
She chuckled and the echoing sound through the dark silence made my bones shake. "You'll see." As I widened my darting eyes still trying to catch any instance of light, they began to water at what she insinuated.
Someone was going to come for me soon.
A loud grinding noise paired with an even louder squeal suddenly filled the room. I covered my ears and tried to look around for the source. The room was still a pitch black and the noise somehow managed to leak through my tightened hands. Then as suddenly as it came, it suddenly stopped. I uncovered my ears, and just as earlier a silence fell over the room again. "What was that?"
"They'll come in soon." My chest began to tighten at what could possibly be coming next. I backed up further against the wall wishing I could melt into it and hopefully disappear. There was the sound of footsteps and my heart fell to my ass as they drew closer. "It's in your best interest to not put up a fight with them. They can get very aggressive."
I stood up from my sitting position, still holding myself against the wall for ease. I didn't want to be overwhelmed by my disadvantage on the floor. I looked around the room still hoping to find what could've possibly made the loud noise. It was a door, I was sure of it but I didn't know where it was. If I could see it I would slip out, with everything in the dark it would've been easy to hide against it.
The footsteps were now in the room and the only thing I could hear once they settled was the sound of my rapidly beating heart. I took a deep breath and pushed myself back on the wall still scanning the room. I swallowed trying to calm myself but it was no use, I was scared out of my fucking mind. "Get the girl."
I did nothing as the footsteps drew closer to me and soon hands tightly grabbed my arms. I whispered a silent prayer as they began to drag me towards the direction they came in. "Get the other one too."
"No!" She screamed and I jumped at how loud it was. She continued to scream as the sounds of grunting joined in as well. "Leave me here as always! Leave me here, leave me alone!" Her voice sounded closer the more I was being pushed in a certain direction.
