Worse Than Giving Up

Chapter 2

Nath's POV

I groan when I hear that an alarm is ringing loudly, because I know that this mean that my pack is being attacked, and I'm one of the warriors, so I will most likely have to fight for hours.

I quickly consider if I should just stay in my bed, but I decide to not do that, and I quickly get out of my bed, before I run out of my room.

I might not want to fight, but I know that if I will fight, then I might save some of the other people.

I just hope that I won't be killed, because I didn't even meet my kids yet.

Sven and I got to know that he's pregnant a few days before I had to move out of his father's pack, and we can't really contact each other.

Because I know that Devonte can see everything that his pack members do on their phones.

So, if I texted Sven, then he could easily find out where I'm staying right now.

And I really don't want to be locked in cellars for years, so I guess that that's not an option, even though I considered it a few times.

I know that if I went back to my former pack, then I would still be able to see Sven and my kid sometimes.

But I really don't think that I would have survive in the cellars for that long.

It doesn't take me long to reach the other warriors, and the Beta quickly tells everyone what's going on, before we run towards the pack border, where some of the warriors are already fighting.

I quickly notice that there are more rogues than we expected, but I know that we will be able to kill them quickly anyway.

People from this pack are good at fighting, almost as good as people from my former pack, although this pack is a lot smaller than the other one.

It takes us about two hours, but we manage to kill most of the rogues.

Most of us are currently fighting with the last rogues, while some of the warriors decided to step aside, to give us more room to fight, because they already don't have anyone to fight with.

I guess that's they could help us to kill the remaining rogues.

But I know that it's more difficult to fight with someone, when I have to make sure that I won't acucdentlaly hurt someone who's not fighting against me.

So, I'm glad that they're staying away from my fight.

A few minutes later, I finally manage to kill the rogue, so I go towards the other guard, but I stop waking when I realise that someone is running towards me.

I turn around, and I quickly notice that a rogue is trying to run away.

I try to move out of his path, because that would allow me to attack him from the side.

But I don't manage to do it in time, and he runs straight at me, which makes me fall to the ground.
