Worse Than Giving Up

Chapter 29

Sven's POV

"I have to tell you something." Papa says, right after the sees me and Nath.

"What?" I ask him.

Nath and I spent the whole day together, and I didn't even realise that I missed him but now I know that I missed him a lot.

And I know that he missed me too, so I promised him that I will spend more time with him from now on.

"I think that we were wrong when we assumed that Finley killed Dallas." He tells us, and I frown.

"Then who did that?" I ask him.

Everyone assumed that the former Delta did that, because he wanted to punish Nath for killing his son.

"Well, I gave the knife to one for my friends who works with a human police, and be told me that only Dallas touched this knife." He tells me.

My eyes widen when I realise what he's trying to tell us, and I shake my head right away.

"He wouldn't do that." I tell him, because I'm sure that he was happy here, and that he wouldn't kill himself.

Well, he was a bit sad when we were in his former pack, at least that's what Logan told me.

But he was very happy here, so I'm sure that he didn't have a reason to do something like that.

"Well, there's a possibility that someone touched it with a cloth, or something, but Logan told me that he has a feeling that he just killed himself." Papa tells me.

I want to say something, but he starts to talk again, before I can do that.

"Logan contacted Dallas' pack, and he talked with his father  who told him that Dallas used to see a therapist, and that he was depressed since the day when he lost his sight.

And he even tried to kill himself before, but someone stopped him before he could do that." Papa tells me.

I look at Nath quietly to see what he's thinking about this, and I can see that he has no idea if he wants to believe my father.

Thankfully, the former Delta is still alive, although he's in a coma now, because I hit his head hardly.

So, when he will wake up, then Logan will be able to use his Alpha voice to get information out of him.

"We will see that Finley will say." I say to my father, and he nods once, before he sits on the couch that's in front of the one that I'm sitting on with Nath.

"How are you doing?" He asks me  and I shrug.

"Nath's dealing with it better than I do, but I guess that we will be fine." I say.

"I'm glad that you and Dallas didn't finish the mating profess  because I wouldn't want you to die." He tells us.

I decide to not remind him that we might still die in a few years.

I guess that I should hope that Nath and I will manage to survive because we still have each other, but I know that it might not be the case.

Because a lot of people who lose their mate before they completed the mating bond die after a few years.
