Worse Than Giving Up

Chapter 4

Sven's POV

On my way there, I call my kids' babysitter, who's also my brother's mate.

"Hey." He says.

"Hi. I will have to get out of the pack lands to see Nath. Will you be able to watch the kids for a few weeks?" I ask him.

"Most likely. But I'm not sure if they won't make me go crazy before you will come back." Are tells me.

I know that he and Ezra have to taking care of their twins too, but those kids aren't evil like one of my kids, so I'm sure that they will be able to take care to them for a few weeks.

I would have reconsidered it, but I know that they're watching my kids almost every day, and they're doing fine.

"Give one of them to Knight and one to Miguel, if they will be too much for you." I say, and he agrees to do that, so I hang up.

I walk inside of the house, and I quickly pack some of my things, before I go back to the pack house.

My father is waiting on me near the front door, so I go towards him.

"You will have to wait for a few minutes, because Logan and Henry will be going with you." He tells me.

I just nod in acknowledgement.

I text a few of my friends, to let them know what's going on, and Logan comes here a few minutes later, so we go towards the car that we will use to drive to Nath's pack.

"What happened to your mate?" Henry asks me, while he puts his bag into the car.

"I will explain later." I say.

I know that we will be driving for hours, so I'm sure that I will find some time to do that.

All three of us sit on the backseat of the car, while the two guards who are going with us sit in the front sits.

They're here so they can drive the car, because only Logan knows how to do it, but he isn't a very good driver, so Papa would never allow him on drive for that long.

I really doubt that we would have reached Nath's pack if Logan was driving, so I'm glad that the guards are here.

Although I also wish that they weren't here, because that would mean that I could freely talk with my brother and his mate.

It doesn't take long before we drive out of the pack lands, and I quickly look a out of the window, so I can see that city, because I never was in a city and I really want to see it.

I know that Logan will be an Alpha soon, maybe even this year, which means that everyone will most likely be allowed to leave the pack lands, at least once in a while.

I'm sure that everyone is excited about it, same as me, but I'm a bit worried that this will end badly for us.

Because I know that someone of the people from our pack aren't able to keep any secret.

And if they will tell humans about the fact that we're werewolves, then the hunters will find us very quickly.
