Nath's POV

"I have to talk with you about something." Devonte says when he walks into the living room.

My eyes widen a bit, because I didn't expect him to come here.

And I'm alone with two of the kids, because Sven and Dallas went to the pack hospital to make sure that Julien will be fine, because he fell from the couch.

"I'm not going to hurt you." He tells me, but this doesn't calm me at all, because I don't really trust him.

"Then what do you want?" I ask him.

I was hoping that he will never mention the punishment, because he didn't say anything for the last few days.

He didn't even talk with me until now, but I guess that it's finally the time for us to talk.

"I want to make sure that you will know that the Delta isn't happy with you.

So, don't go into the woods alone or anything, and try to not be near him." He tells me.

I frown a bit, but I nod anyway.

"Are you going to punish me?" I ask him, because I really want to know that.

"No. I think that you punished yourself enough by not contacting your mate and kids for over a year." He tells me.

I nod slightly, to let him know that I got it, but I'm still not sure if he's serious, or not.

I honestly expected him to drag me to the cellars as soon as I will come here, but I guess that's the fact that I'm his son's mate helped me get out of that.

Or maybe he's feeling sorry for me, because I still have a slight trouble with memory.

To be honest, I don't really care what made him forgive him, because I'm too happy that he forgave me this easily.

"Do you still like Joe?" He asks me after a while of silence, and he gesture at the kid who's currently sleeping next to me.

"I have no idea why everyone says that he's evil. He's behaving better than the other kids." I say with a shrug.

"He wasn't like this before you came here." Devonte tells me, but I don't believe him at all.

Joe is the nicest of my kids, so I really doubt that he could be evil.

"I'm sure that he's just trying to make a good first impression on you, and that he will soon start to behave like he did before." Devonte tells me.

I want to argue with him, but the front door opens before I can do that, and a few seconds later, Sven and Dallas come here with Javen and Jeff.

"Is he bothering you?" Sven asks me, and he gestures at his father.

"He's just trying to make me believe that Joe is evil." I say, and Dallas chuckles, while Sven rolls his eyes.

"He is evil." Sven tells me sternly but I just shake my head.

"He's a very nice kid." I say and right after I do that, I can hear that Joe is farting, or maybe pooping.

"As long as he doesn't make me clean him." I say, and all of them laugh.
