It had been nearly nine months since the twins had been born, and Sally didn't know whether to be joyful or concerned.
On one hand the twins were extremely close and did not make much of a fuss and had taken a liking to both their parents, though they did have their own favourites. They were easy to handle babies with a proper sleep schedule, which was something Sally would admit she did not think would be possible.
On the other hand they were a bit too well behaved babies. Never made her get up in the middle of the night at ungodly hours. They were quick to walk and speak. Always following each other like puppies.
Yet it was unusual for both of them to be so non- troublesome, considering they were part of the same soul, or at least that was told to Poseidon a day after their birth when the Morai came to visit.
Shouldn't that mean that one is the Calm and the other is the Storm.
Poseidon had assured her that it was understandable for them to be this way as the sea had been calm for months and they were a part of it. Maybe that was it, or maybe it was something else she didn't know about.
"Mama." A cry broke her out of her musings. She turned around to see Percy waddling towards her with his hands stretched out in her direction.
He was in a blue T-shirt with his diaper on as he giggled his way to her. His chubby cheeks rouge from happiness, and a little drool leaking out from the left side of his mouth.
Sally smiled as she bent down to collect her son in her arms as Poseidon came in with Rhea in his, their daughter poking his cheek and giggling every time it left a dimple as he smiled.
Sally smiled as she went near them, kissing her daughter on the cheek before kissing Poseidon.
"I thought you had a meeting today?" She asked, her tone curious, but not unwelcome.
"I ended it early. I missed the kids." He replied as he bounced Rhea lightly.
Sally just smiled as she led them to the mini playpen she made in one corner of her home.
She carefully placed Percy in there, watching as he crawled towards the building blocks and tried to stack them up. Rhea, who had been put down by her father, quickly went near her brother and helped him.
Sally sat in a seat nearby, Poseidon following suit. A plate of steaming hot chicken cacciatore slid in front of her, making the mother smile as she began eating, just noticing how hungry she was.
Poseidon just looked at her before he looked at the children, looking like he wanted to say something, but didn't know if he should.
"What is it?" Sally asked, chewing a piece of chicken in her mouth and trying not to moan for the heavenly taste.
"Amphitrite and Triton found out about them." Poseidon said, looking at her trying to gauge her expression.
Sally didn't flinch as Poseidon revealed the news to her, just kept on eating her food. She swallowed the bite she ate before speaking again.
"And?" She inquired, knowing that there was going to be more.
"They wish to meet the kids." He replied, readying himself for all reactions.
Sally just nodded and kept eating her food calmly, making Poseidon feel anxious.
"Okay." She said as she got up to keep the plate in the sink.
Poseidon blinked before he looked in her direction to see her washing the plate and loading it in the dishwasher.
"Did you just say okay?" He asked, confused at her answer.
Sally just nodded her answer as she finished putting the rest of the dishes in the dishwasher, before turning around.
"But do let them know this Poseidon. Gods or not, Royalty or not, if anything, and I mean anything, happens to my babies because of them, I will impale them with their own trident and send them to Tartarus myself."
Poseidon breathed a sigh of relief. There was the woman he fell in love with.
"I'll be sure to let them know." He promised.
"Good." Sally nodded her head again. "They can come tomorrow if they want."
Poseidon just nodded in affirmation.
