He didn't turn as he felt his mothers flinch.
Didn't turn as he heard his Mom slap a hand over her mouth in shock, the gasp getting stuck in her throat.
Didn't turn as he heard his Mama let out a broken no at the information.
He didn't break his stare with his Dad, even as he saw in the corner of his eye how Triton clenched his fist so hard that ichor started dripping on the floor.
But his Dad was worse.
He felt it, of course. Maybe not before Triton, but before his mothers did.
He heard how the tides suddenly grew and how the people screamed in surprise. He felt how the ground gave a rumble at the repressed anger of the god, only stopping due to him knowing that he could potentially kill Sally and Percy if he let loose now.
"Did they cut a thread?" Poseidon asked, a dark edge creeping into his tone, his eyes growing darker as the sea grew more violent.
Percy gave him a reluctant nod, watching, hearing, as a few humans near the beach drowned, begging for someone to help them.
To save them.
But Percy did not stop his father, not even with the amount of damage he knew his father could inflict on innocent people.
Why?
Was it because Percy had been born with more ichor in his body than blood that he had grown callous towards humans and their lives, compared to his past life.
Was it because he was raised in this life with the intention of turning into a God with his twin by his side, maybe his best friend now as well?
He wondered how the Percy from the previous world would react to his inattentive state to the plight of those without powers?
Would he berate him?
Would he understand that matters of the family came before the matters of the world?
Would that Percy hate this version of him? Or would he become like him?
Percy was shaken out of his thoughts as he felt his Mama fling herself into his arms, tears dripping down her cheeks.
And Percy held her for a moment before he could tell them the rest.

Amphitrite hated her immortality at times. This was one of them.
She knew she shouldn't have gotten close.
Knew that she should have maintained the distance between herself and the children, like she had done countless times before.
Despite every instinct in her telling her to leave them behind, she had accepted the twins as her children.
She had fallen in love with their mother.
And Sally... sweet, gorgeous, magnificent Sally.
She was going to lose her children, because no one could go against the fates and win, no one could make them reattach a thread that had already been cut.
And on top of losing her children, Amphitrite was going to lose her love as well, because there is no way Sally would wish to continue being a part of this world of theirs.
And Amphitrite hated the world for this fate of her children, this twisted destiny they had to face because some stupid oracle could not stop itself from spouting a Prophecy that condemned her children.
