In hindsight, Percy realised he should have told his Mom that Grover might end up coming that night only to take him to camp.

He cringed again at the look of utter disbelief his mom had on her face. She looked between the Satyr, the pant-less Satyr, to her son as he tried to calm his friend.

Now they were sitting in his Mom's Porsche, racing through the terrible storm that started.

He hoped this time the Zeus would not strike the car down this time, it was his and Rhea's favourite, and also really expensive.

He should have known that whenever he hoped for something, it activated Murphy's Law to make sure that whatever happened was the opposite of his wish.

He sensed the build up before it struck, feeling the hair on the back of his neck rise.

"Mom, I need you to trust me and jump from the car." He said, his words slightly slurring with the speed he spoke them with.

"Percy, WHAT?!?" his mom asked, her voice hysterical after having to drive so fast so quickly, especially since they were so close to the camp.

"Mom, NOW." He shouted as he opened the door and pulled Grover out with him.

Lightening struck, blinding him for a second, but not before seeing his Mom jump out after him.

As his vision cleared he saw his car charred and broken to pieces, the door flung to the side, imbedding itself in the tree.

"That was a Porsche."

Percy shouted, rage clear at the state of his beloved car, of the first gift that his mom had accepted from her lovers after them trying to spoil her for years, without her reciprocating and allowing herself to be spoiled.

Percy and Rhea had been very happy for their Mom, knowing how she used to feel about needing to reciprocate gift giving because she thought the other person would leave. They knew she did not need their Dad and Mama, but she also knew the twins needed them.

And now that symbol of progress was destroyed.

Destroyed by a man that thought he had a right to come after people due to his own negligence.

Destroyed by a man who let his paranoia rule Olympus rather than the domain he claimed he had.

The air felt suffocating as he looked towards the sky, as if promising vengeance.

He breathed, forcing himself to relax, and feeling the air get lighter around him.

Now was not the time to be angry, he needed to be strategic.

He willed himself to seek any water body near him other than the one in the camp, the rain making his hair stick to him, the roar of the Minotaur getting closer.

Finding it, he turned to his mom, seeing her pull Grover up to check if he was alright.

"Mom, I need you to run to your right. You will come across a lake that connects to the sea. Go there." He told his Mom as soon as he reached her, putting his hands on her shoulders and making sure to hold eye contact.

"Percy, I am not leaving you." She shouted at him, her eyes widening in fear, glancing behind him because she could also hear the oncoming monster.

"You will die or be taken from me if you do not leave me. I can survive this Mom, I've known how to wield a sword before I could walk." He said as he squeezed her shoulders.

"He's right, Ms. Jackson. Normal humans cannot enter the camp. You are in more danger than him." Grover spoke, his behaviour shifty as he wanted to get a move on.
