Becoming friends with Jason Grace earlier in life was not a change Percy saw coming, which says a lot since he and Rhea had planned for almost every scenario possible.

Meeting Reyna Ramirez-Arellano was another.

He hadn't even considered the possibility that her sister would send her to camp before the events of the Golden Fleece Quest took place, but she had, and he had met the girl and he was not ashamed to admit that he had a soft spot in her heart, a spot he didn't have in his previous life.

It was nice.

It was when Percy was twelve did the dynamics between the four of them changed as he saw Rhea entirely infatuated with the blonde boy he came to see as one of his best friends, sans Rhea.

So he had sat in front of his parents and asked them to be able to tell Jason and Reyna about the Greek side of things.

Their parents had been rightfully sceptical, but had eventually agreed to it as they trusted their children.

So one day, Percy and Rhea had called the two to their house and had laid out the entire truth, minus the secret between the twins.

Jason had been silent for a few moments before he took everything in stride and just asked them questions to curb his curiosity.

Reyna had been cautious, before their dad had come barreling through the door in his entire Blue and Green glory and proceeded to plan their official coronation to be crowned as Prince and Princess of Atlantis and how they couldn't refuse and had then proceeded to give them baby seal eyes until they agreed.

That was certainly a memorable day.

Even more so as their dad had taken one look at the two people sitting with them and then just said that the two had to attend the celebration under all costs, or he would kidnap them and make them sit.

(A part of that declaration had been because Poseidon knew that Rhea had liked the boy, and had spied on them enough to know that the boy would be a good fit for his daughter. If not, then he could always torture him and drown him for hurting his precious pearl.)

The two had not doubted them after that, and had also attended their crowning ceremony as well, and had cheered like that was their only reason for living.

Percy had been glad that he had the two as his friends.

It was winter break when a thirteen year old Rhea had realised that she liked Jason more than a friend, a fact she had been denying herself for a long time.

Her realisation had come quite suddenly, with her just looking at him tripping over a brick that had been on the ground before spouting a bunch of curses in English and Latin, along with a few in Italian and Greek he had heard Percy and her spout before, and then proceeded to engage in a staring contest with said brick.

So she did the first thing that any teenage girl would do when she found out that she has a crush on someone.

She went to her best friend.

Who also happened to be her twin brother.

"I think I like Jason." Rhea had said in a lieu of a greeting as she had just arrived from Camp.

Percy looked at her with an unimpressed expression.

"We been knew, sweetheart. Any other groundbreaking information you happen to have come across?" Percy deadpanned.

"What do you mean you knew?" Rhea spluttered.

"Lia... the entirety of ATLANTIS knows you are in love with Jason Grace, the only person who didn't was yourself and him. Now just him, since you seem to have realised the VERY obvious feelings you have towards each other."

"No they don't"

"They've known for a year and half."

"That makes no sense, if Dad knew, he would have never invited Jason to the coronation."

"Al Contrario, sorella, that is exactly why dad invited Jason, to see if he was a good fit for you. And since he left with no new scars and all his limbs intact, I think he passed dad's, Triton's and our mothers' test. I think it was the dance that did it."

Rhea blushed a bright red at the statement.

The dance was a traditional waltz, a style that had been created by a sibling of theirs in a way to immortalize the way one glides through water with extreme elegance and finesse.

Jason had been the one to ask as soon as Rhea had danced with her brothers and father.

Her hair had been braided in a traditional High Atlantean Braid with Pearls glistening through her hair. She had worn a mermaid style dark blue dress that had a plain bodice and hugged her frame till just above knees before it flared out with pearls embroidered and stitched to make them look like stars.

It had been a breathtaking dress that had been designed and stitched by the seamstresses that worked in the Atlantean Village, an honour -  their words - they had done great justice to.

Rhea didn't know that she had liked Jason then, but then again Percy always knew more about her feelings than she did, and vice versa.

So maybe she had.

"Oh this is a tragedy. I can't like Jason. He's supposed to be my best friend, and so not in love with me. He's supposed to fall for Piper, remember? I can't fall in love with him."

"Says who? Things have already changed, Lia. You falling in love will not make them shake the fixed points. It will be alright." Percy comforted his sister.

"He's not even in love with me." Rhea mumbled.

Percy snorted.

"If Jason is not in love with you then I am the Queen of England. And since you can see I am neither a girl nor a Queen, then Jason is definitely in love with you... he's just a little... slow."

Rhea groaned and belly flopped on the bed.

Percy just laughed and patted his sister on the head.

It was moments like this that made him think that everything would end up alright.

It had to.
