Percy was fourteen when he had met Grover, two years after the original greeting he had had with the satyr.
Not that he was complaining, it gave him more time to train and be ready for the shitshow that was about to come.
(Though a teeny tiny part of him had hoped that the satyr would not find him this time around. It was a childish dream to hope, but he had hoped nonetheless.)
Honestly, he hadn't thought that Grover would have been able to find him this time around, given the fact that he went to a private school in this life instead of Yancy.
But he had come regardless, undercover as a scholarship student with a target on his back.
Despite the circumstances and the foreboding sense of what is to come, Percy was secretly glad that he had Grover in his life again, a fact he had told Rhea on their daily IMs.
Rhea had been glad for her brother, knowing he had no one in his life from their paternal side like she did.
After that it was a journey of nine months before the entire drama before he was to leave for Camp Half-Blood.
In an absolutely nervous and anxious fashion- a way in which if his Mama Amphy saw him, she would make him sit through three continuous days of etiquette training- he forced himself into all the classes he was already enrolled in.
Sword fighting- which is a weird elective, but since it was a school for rich kids with absent parents, no one really cared- had him almost cutting the arm off a student and being forced to do a month of lake cleansing as community service(not that it was much of a punishment).
Archery made him so determined that his teacher was impressed when he hit a bulls-eye.
Or Cello lessons, which were actually his favourite class in a way, became more intense as he released more of his power through the instrument, another interesting thing both him and Rhea, who preferred the violin, had discovered when their father had asked them to learn and instrument because they couldn't always fight their way out of a situation and an instrument seemed like a cool way to let the emotions out, which kind of calmed him down before the impending situation to come dawned upon him.
Again.
The rest of the martial arts training went splendidly except he was way more bruised because his head was not in the game.
But it was going great, despite the receding months before he was to leave.
He had made some friends before of course, which was just out of necessity considering each and every one was ready to almost stab each other in the back to reach to the top, but he would be the first one to say he was happy to have Grover back.
And with Grover coming followed the fun Mr. Brunner and the hard-ass Mrs. Dodds (which made Percy wonder why Alecto was called Mrs. Dodds and not Ms. Dodds, was she married or was it just part of the persona?).
So on went the months before the famed trip to the Roman museum happened again.
Another thing he thought might not happen this time because he was in a Private school, not Yancy.
And oh boy was it an experience, because even in this life, he could not escape Nancy Bobofit.
Only she had come with her school at the same time as them.
Talk about fate.
And all the events up to him recognising the statue and the story before going back out went quite the same before Nancy came to annoy them with her little snotty voice about how Grover didn't fit in with them made Percy loose the carefully controlled anger he had been feeling for the last six months snap and ended with Nancy drenched in the fountain.
