"What the fuck?" Cooper asked and took another step back away from his mate, his whole body growing tense. He cleared his throat and shifted on his feet while he looked around and then looked at his mate, his whole body still tense. "Are we stuck?"
"Probably," Rylan said. She tried to use her fire powers with furrowed brows and pursed her lips in annoyance when nothing happened. "Can you see if you are able to do anything, Sam?" she asked and looked at me with a raised eyebrow in question. "I don't know why, but I can't light a fire."
Tommy scoffed and rolled his eyes, teasingly. "Wimp," he said, almost earning a growl from Cooper but was stopped by a single look from Ry. "Let's let a real pro show you how it's done." He held out his hand and tried to use his powers, but it didn't seem to work. "What?" he asked, earning a snort from the other female.
Again, he tried to use his powers, but nothing he did worked, earning another snort from the female. "What the actual f-"
"We still have kids, so I wouldn't use that language," Perc said, interrupting Tommy from saying anything else. He looked around and set his jaw, growing very tense and nervous, especially since it seemed like our powers wouldn't work.
"Shut up, Percy," Ry said and gave him a pointed look. "You are as bad as us when it comes to cussing in front of the kids."
Percy shrugged and grimaced. "Well, their kids might not be used to it," he said and looked at Felicity before he looked at Ry again with both eyebrows raised.
"Oh, they have been through worse," Cel said, and I bit back a small snort while I slowly nodded in agreement. She shrugged and grimaced. "It's fine, we cuss in front of them all of the time."
"Then my apologies," Percy said and gestured for Tommy to go ahead and say what he wanted to say, and I bit back a small snort in amusement.
Tommy scowled and narrowed his eyes before he tried to use his powers again. "Now, what the fuck is going on? Why can't we use our powers? Sam, can you use yours?" He looked at me.
"Now, look who's the wuss," Ry said and winked teasingly while she cleared her throat and looked at me. "But are you able to use your powers, Sam?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question.
I bit back a small sigh and shook my head, even though I was going to humor her and try. I held out my hand and tried to create a small tornado in my hand but wasn't able to. "I guess not," I said and pressed my lips into a thin line before I looked at Cooper. "Are you going to try, now?"
"No," Cooper said and shook his head. "I do not think that I will be able to use my powers either." He looked at Percy. "Can you try to get the door open?" he asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "Or would that be a good idea?" He looked at Ry.
Ry pressed her lips into a thin line and looked at me. She didn't say a word, and I had a feeling that she didn't think it was but also wanted my opinion as well.
I bit back a small sigh and shook my head. "I don't think it's a good idea," I said and looked at the two of them. "I think for right now, we should see if there is any food for us to eat or any information that might tell us why we are here and what's going on."
Ry slowly nodded in confirmation. She didn't say a word, and a bit of relief filled her eyes while she looked at me.
I sighed and moved a hand through my hair before I shook my head and pursed my lips in annoyance. "Should we start with the kitchen first?" I asked. "And are we going as a group?"
"Yes," their Cason said. "Let's go get food." He looked at me and cocked his head while he stared at me with wide eyes. "Please?" he asked, pouting ever so slightly. "Can we go check the kitchen to see some food?"
I bit back a small laugh and slowly nodded. "Yes," I said. "We can check the kitchen and get some food."
"But let the older people eat first before you do," Tommy said and looked at Ry with a raised eyebrow in question. "Would that be fine?" he asked.
Ry bit back a small laugh and slowly nodded. "Yes," she said. "I agree with Tommy. Let's let us eat first before you all eat. Ok? I don't think it would be a good idea if you all eat and then something bad happens to you."
Their Cason scoffed and rolled his eyes. "And what can happen?" he asked while he folded his arms across his chest and scowled. "It's not like we are not somewhere else already. Are you worried that we could die?"
Ry gave him a pointed look and raised both eyebrows in unison. She didn't say a word while she stared at him, but her meaning was clear.
There was a chance that we could die if we ate the food, and we didn't want them to pass...
Their Cason bit back a small sigh of annoyance and rolled his eyes. "Fine," he grumbled and folded his arms across his chest. "But just know that Jonah and I are hungry."
"And don't forget about me," Anne Marie said, folding her arms across her chest and pouting, and I bit back a small snort because it looked like all she wanted to do was smile and giggle.
Ry bit back a small laugh and nodded. "Duly noted," she said before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet, looking at all of our group before she looked at the children again. "Then let's go ahead in the kitchen and see if there is anything to eat. After that, we'll go explore the rest of the house and see where we are and why we are here."
And find a way to go back home...
