Cel sighed and shook her head while she moved a hand through her hair, pursing her lips in annoyance. "Damn, that sucks," she said before she cleared her throat and shifted a little way from me, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes and scowl, even though I couldn't help but become amused. "Do you think that you can be changed now?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

I bit back a small laugh and nodded. "'Course," I said, "but we'll make sure that it doesn't happen so that I can go home and live a happy life with my kids, pack, and mate."

"And let's not forget about giving birth to a new baby," Perry said, and I held back an eye roll while I scowled. He gave me a pointed look and raised both eyebrows in unison.

"But I am not pregnant, Perry," I said and shook my head, even though a small bit of doubt made its way into my mind, and I couldn't help not believe what I said. "Why are you saying that I am pregnant when I am not?" I raised an eyebrow in question.

"Or you could be and just not know it," Perry said and shrugged, and his pointed look grew deeper. "I mean, you were told that you were pregnant for the rest of your kids, too, before you agreed that you were."

I rolled my eyes and scowled, pressing my lips into a thin line. "Yes, but Vuclan would have said something if I was pregnant or not when he tasted my blood, and he hasn't said a word." I gestured to Vulcan, who grew tense and slowly blinked while he set his jaw and pressed his lips into a thin line.

Perry looked at the Vampire King before he looked at me with an unamused look on his face. He slowly blinked and cocked his head while he studied me. "Yes, and you already know why he hasn't said a word about it," he said sarcastically. "He hasn't said a word since we got here."

"That is a lie, and you know it," I said and narrowed my eyes while I scowled, and he shrugged and grimaced. "Vulcan has said a few words, which is normal for him, but he has spoken while we have been here."

"Yes, but he hasn't said a word in a while," Perry said, "and he will not say a word about if you are pregnant or not, especially since we have a few new friends with us." He gestured to Cel, and Cel scowled and narrowed her eyes while she stared at him.

"Seriously?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question while she cocked her head and studied him. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing bad," he said and shook his head. "Vulcan is just nervous around new people, and he knows that you are not... comfortable with him, even though he isn't going to do anything to any of you all."

Cel scowled and narrowed her eyes. She didn't say a word while she looked between the two men before she looked at me, and I bit back a tired smile and shrugged.

"Anyway," I said and looked at Vulcan, and he looked at me and slowly blinked while he stared at me. "Ai gustat ceva diferit? (Did you taste anything different?)" I asked, switching to Romanian while I cocked my head and studied him, raising an eyebrow in question.

Vulcan hesitated before he shrugged and grimaced. He pressed his lips into a thin line while he stared at me, and I held back an eye roll and bit back an annoyed sigh.

"Vulcan," I said with a soft scowl in my voice while I tucked my head closer to my chest. "Vă rog. Ai gustat ceva? (Please. Did you taste anything?)" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I cocked my head and studied me.

"Nu știu, (I don't know,)" he said and shook his head. "Nu am gustat nimic diferit și nu mă gândeam să gust nimic. (I didn't taste anything different and wasn't thinking of tasting anything.)"

"Hmph." I pressed my lips into a thin line while I cocked my head and studied him, and Vulcan slowly blinked while he stared at me, silently waiting for me to say something else.

"I still have a pregnancy test," Becca said, interrupting our staring contest, and we looked at her with blank looks on her face. She bit back a small smile while she tucked her head closer to her chest. Her cheeks turned red while she blushed, and she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "Do you want it?"

I bit back a tired sigh and slowly nodded, relenting. "Ok," I said, "but if I am not pregnant, then I will tell you all that I told you so. Is that understood?" I cocked my head and studied her before I looked at the rest of my group.

Becca bit back a small smile and slowly nodded. "Ok," she said and reached into her pocket to grab the pregnancy test. "I am hoping that it will still work," she said, and I rolled my eyes and scowled while my cheeks turned red. "I mean, we have Vulcan if we need him." She gestured to him.

"No," Vulcan said and shook his head, his Romanian accent getting more prominent, and we looked at him with a blank look on our faces. "I am not going to drink her blood to test if she is pregnant or not."

"Poți și vei face, (You can, and you will,)" I said, switching to Romanian while I looked at him. I scowled and narrowed my eyes while I tucked my head closer to my chest, and Vulcan frowned and slowly blinked while he stared at me with a blank look on his face. "Se înțelege asta? (Is that understood?)"

Vulcan sighed and slowly nodded, relenting without much of a fight, much to my surprise and relief. "Nu în fața lor, (Not in front of them,)" he said and looked toward the other group before he looked at me. He pressed his lips into a thin line while he did so, and I slowly nodded.

He did not want them to continue to be afraid of him when he would never hurt them unless it was to protect me...

My heart ached when what he was feeling crossed my mind, and I nodded. "Înțeles, (Understood,)" I said before I bit back a tired sigh.

I moved a hand through my hair and shook my head, setting my jaw and pressing my lips into a thin line while I looked at Becca. "Do you want to just give it to me when we are in the bathroom and not now?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I studied her, and Becca nodded in confirmation.

"Sure," she said and stopped reaching for it, breathing a small sigh of relief while she pulled her hand from her pocket. "So, do you think that you are going to be pregnant now?" she asked before she cocked her head while she studied me.

I bit back a tired sigh and rubbed the bridge of my nose while I shook my head, setting my jaw and pressing my lips into a thin line. "I don't know, Bec," I said honestly before I cleared my throat and licked my lips. "I don't know, but I guess that we are going to find out one way or another."

And I hope that the Goddess will have mercy on me and make it so that I am not pregnant, even it was only in my dreams...
