"So, what did you all find out about this place?" I asked and looked at Rylan, and I raised an eyebrow in question while I studied her. "How many rooms did you go into until you were able to find a bathroom?"

"Not that many," she said and shook her head. "We just continued to walk and then have people question me on being pregnant or not." She shot her brother an annoyed look, and Rhett shrugged and bit back a small smile.

Rylan sighed and shook her head before she looked at me, biting back a small smile. "We'll find out what we need to do and where we need to go when we are done eating. Ok?"

I bit back an annoyed sigh before I slowly nodded. "Ok," I said before I cleared my throat and licked my lips before I looked at her mate. "Now, are you going to answer my question or not, Not Alpha?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question, and Cooper grew tense and set his jaw while he pressed his lips into a thin line. "Were you put under a spell, too?"

"Thomas," my mate said with a small hiss in her voice, and I looked at her with an innocent look on my face. She scowled and narrowed her eyes while she looked at me. "Stop."

I bit back an annoyed sigh and rolled my eyes at my mate before I looked at Cooper again. "So, Not Alpha," I said and raised an eyebrow in question while I stared at him, "are you going to answer my question or not?"

Cooper shifted in his seat before he cleared his throat and took a bite of his food. Debate filled his eyes, and he looked at his mate to see what she had to say, and she shrugged and grimaced, pressing her lips into a thin line.

"Do you mind if we talk about this later when the younger ones are asleep?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question while she looked at me. "There are some things that young ears shouldn't have to hear."

"So I take that as a yes, he was under a spell," I said and nodded before I cleared my throat while I shifted in my seat. "Do you know who and why you had placed it on you?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I studied them.

Rylan bit back an annoyed sigh and pressed her lips into a thin line. "Please, Thomas," she said with a small warning in her tone, and I bit back a small smirk because she sounded so much like my mate that it wasn't funny. "This is not the time or the place to talk about everything or anything that we had been through."

"But, Rylan," their Cason said with a small whine in his voice. "Why do we have to leave and go to bed? Some of us can stay up later than others." He looked at Jonah when he said that, and Jonah rolled his eyes and scowled.

"I can stay up later than that, Cason," Jonah said and folded his arms across his chest with a small scowl on his face and narrowed his eyes. "Why do you think that I can't?"

"Because you have tried to stay up until midnight or whatever, and you pass out instantly, Jonah," Rylan said, and I bit back a small snort. She looked at their Cason and raised both eyebrows in unison. "You also pass out early, too, even though you try to stay up later than our son." She gestured toward Jonah.

Cason rolled his eyes and scowled, pressing his lips into a thin line. He folded his arms across his chest but didn't say a word, and Rylan bit back a small smirk and tucked her head closer to her chest.

"Hmph." Rylan's smirk appeared on her face while she tucked her head closer to her chest. She looked at the group before she looked at me, growing serious. "We'll talk about everything later, Alpha," she said and offered me a tight smile. "As I have stated before, I do not think it would be a good idea if we talked about this in front of the young ones." She looked at my mate before she looked at me. "If it is as bad as what I, well we, had been through, then they don't need to hear about it."

"But we already know a bit," Jonah said and pouted, and he looked at his mother with a wide innocent look in his eyes. "Please, Mommy?"

"No," she said and shook her head. "You aren't going to know the whole thing until you are older than you are now. Kyler and Keagen aren't going to know until they are older, too."

"Hmph." Jonah pouted further, and tears pricked the corner of her eyes. He didn't say a word, and Rylan held back an eye roll while she pressed her lips into a thin line.

"Anyway, how are we going to know when it is dark or not?" Callie asked and furrowed her brows and pouted, and we looked at her. "I mean, there are two suns, and I do not think that they set or whatever."

"I don't think that they set either," Rylan said while my mate murdered her agreement and nodded. "I guess we have to figure out when it is dark and make sure that we accumulate ourselves to this place because we have no way of knowing how long we will be here."

"We also need to find allies that actually live here and not from two different timelines," Sam said, and Ryln nodded in agreement. "How good are you at detecting who is a friend or a foe, Rylan?"

Rylan made a face, and I had a feeling that she thought something sarcastic that she wouldn't say out loud, and I couldn't help but become amused when my mate growled in warning.

The other Alpha looked at Sam and smiled, amused, tucking her head closer to her chest. "I count myself as decent," she said instead of whatever that face said. "I am sure that we'll be able to work it out between the four of us. We just have to make sure that our judgment doesn't cloud our vision." She looked at Vulcan when she said that before she looked at my mate again.

"But what if what you are saying isn't true?" Sam asked and raised an eyebrow in question, and Vulcan grew tense beside her. "What if h-"

"Sam," I warned, interrupting her while I placed my hand on hers, and my mate instantly looked at me with a hard look in her eyes. "Don't." I shook my head before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat. "It's not worth it."

She scoffed a laugh and rolled her eyes, pursing her lips in annoyance. "And why isn't it worth it?" she asked.

"Because it isn't him that you have to be worried about," Rylan said before I could say another word. Protectiveness filled her voice, and I could tell that she would protect his honor if she needed to. "It'd be me, and I'd be damned if you make him feel inferior than he is already feeling." She paused and licked her lips, and she tucked her head close to her chest while fire filled her eyes. "Like you, and like me, he has a family that he has to get back to and a kingdom to protect, and I will be damned if you get in my way of making sure that he stays safe and alive for them."

You have my word...
